Scott, I know you're disappointed, but at least you get to keep this thread alive for a little longer.

Now that is what I call "looking on the bright side".
As I am sure that both NBC and the NHL are aware of, a Game 7 is going to generate millions of dollars of revenue too, which is pretty significant in this area of the world these days. And maybe, just maybe, some of it might trickle down to all of us little people.

^ True, and frankly the epic nature of the newly developing rivalry between the two franchises has the potential to be one of the great rivalries in major sports. Two great teams facing each other year after year. It brings to mind the Cowbows / Steelers battles or the long time Yankees / Dodgers rivalry. Either way, it's fun to watch and I'm hopeful that the cup will return to Pittsburgh this year.

Hopefully, I will be able to retain my avatar after Friday night's game. I really, really, really did not want to see this series go to a Game 7. Now that it is here I am sure that it is going to be an awesome game for the ages. Hopefully, like with the other 6 games, in favor of the home team. |
I'm hoping the Penguins can replay game 7 of the Caps series myself. Also hoping Hossa's giant alligator tears freeze to the ice and he loses the use of his face. The last thing the NHL needs is another clutch, grab, and interfere Stanley Cup champion. It's bad enough ESPN spends four times as much time covering the awful NBA playoffs as it is.

We'll find out on Friday night's Game 7, but hopefully the Wings will win again.

Yes, it has been a good series. The home team has won all 6 games. Other than Game 5, which the Wings won 5-0, all of the games have been pretty close. 3-1, 3-1, 2-4, 2-4, 5-0, 1-2.

Rushfan, In reading through this thread I must give you credit for being one of the most polite posters on the Prog Archives. I still say "Go Pens" but your your classy support and optimism is rather endearing.

Thank you, but you know that I have to counter your "Go Pens" with a "Go Wings".
10 hours until the big game. The anticipation and excitement are really starting to build. It is Friday casual day at work so I am wearing my Red Wings 2008 Stanley Cup polo shirt in support of the Wings. Lots of people wearing red today.

Well, I`ll have to go with an original six team. Go Wings. Let`s see another 5-0 humiliation.

O my freaking God, what a period of hockey. I am shaking and I'm not even a Pen fan, but I wanted them to win and stick it to Hossa.
