Some of them do belong there, i.e. Vanilla Ice, but I really don't agree with ELP being second worst. The people making this list obviously have no idea what they are talking about. In fact, anyone with slight musical knowledge wouldn't even make a list like this, as they would understand that art cannot really be graded and heirarchised.

Of course it's a stupid list. Stupid lists boost sales much better than good lists. A list that pisses everyone off is a list that has everyone writing in, furious over the suggestions, which is a list that has everyone checking the next issue, to see if their letter was answered or if anything was addressed or if they did something even more stupid.

A good list is something that everyone reads, says "Hunh. That was pretty good," puts the magazine back down and wanders off, forgetting about it. Against all odds, outrageous articles seem to sell more magazines than well-written ones.

It's a musical tabloid and should be treated as such.

EDIT: Case in point - how many times do you think that this article has been posted around the internet? I know I've seen it a few times before I came here. People read it, get pissed off, and show it to everyone else. Everyone else goes to read it, gets pissed off, and spreads it around. But while they're getting all angry about the article, people are on there saying "Hey, look at that. Hometown Hotties. Let's check THAT out."

And suddenly they've got some more subscribers.

This is rubbish, why even alot of Prog-Haters could find artists in that list they liked. Seems to me this list was made simply to piss people off LOL

No, they're really THAT stupid and ignorant.

They don't know ANYTHING about music. Music journalism is dead and worthless.

We don't need anything but the internet now when it comes to discovering new music, when you find a lot of music because of people on forums like these. You realise just how ignorant and useless magazines like Blender are.

Their reviews and lists are mind numbingly awful, they're only good for recommendations.... if you like really bad music. The fact that Paris Hilton and Tila Tequila have graced their covers shows just how much integrity they actually have, which is none.

ClapClap

All integrity in mainstream music journalism disappeared ages ago. Even the broadsheet, "quality", papers long ago sacrificed journalism for appearing cool - a plague on all their houses!Angry

Just getting started on the list I see Iron Butterfly...What?  Thats much better than most of whats around today
Rick Wakemen?  I'm no Yes or Wakemen fan, but hell no.  Theres much worse out there
The Doors.....They just lost any credibility they could have possible had right there
Alan Parson's?  I Robot heavily surpasses all music written in the last few years.
Even Asia and Kansas...I couldn't care less about them, but they are nowhere near worst bands

And I'm not even going to touch upon ELP, I'm on a progressive rock message board, I bet it'll be taken care of
