Oh yes, they look very mortal. And it's good to see they haven't lost themselves in the gimmick.

They just don't have the typical Cool-star pimp look, if you know what I mean... Ow Well, they are just normal mortals, that another thing I love bout them...

watch the candid shots... Just normal people... not "Stars"

That's what I'm talking about- marketing. And no, IMO it was the same way in the seventies, there must have been a proggie look, even if it was just about looking as weird as possible... I don't like this, sure they can dress however they like, but it's gotta be their choice, not the fans' or the recording company's.

And what do you mean they don't look cool, what is there on their official site, photos of them beating up a homeless person?

Nah, I mean, it's not really about the clothes... errr look at your Shadow Gallery photo. Why the posturing, why the gimmick? I'm sure they're cool and fun guys, do they really need to get involved in these Byron/Shelley/Keats photo sessions? Wouldn't their fans accept them without it?

You've already done the work for me (and yes, I am lazy)

What's all the crying about, German and biology rule!

And I think they dress like this because they wanna be more epic and tragic than their music, you know, all that Hamletesque black and crosses the wrong way up, Torn Between Darkness and Light, their Angels and Demons at War

I don't need to post any pictures to prove my point

Oh, and yes, 80's Marillion dressed in a silly way, but those were the 80's...

WolfSpider - , especially the one with Shrek. The Green Giant's trusty sidekick - the don - er, I mean the duck, of course.

Ed - Don't you worry. Here's the plan - if BJ posts another picture of a walrus, he should write something about, say, the Carthesian Paradigm in the very same post. It's all about leading two types of discussions in one post - a useless one and a useful one.

Even Tony R is helpless when faced with the Carthesian Paradigm. Though from his behaviour I imagine he's very well acquainted with Ockham's Razor.

So, now for the useful part of the discussion - why do prog metal musicians have to dress in such silly outfits

Oh, and BTW - this is a page devoted to politics mainly - check out the ad at the top
