I don't frequent MMA enough to have known. I just thought about how much I liked Visions, so I threw their debut on, on Spotify. I don't know what it is about them, usually most prog-metal (that isn't DT-related) is so "eh" to me, with exceptions, but Haken seems to just do it right. Still don't understand why they're considered 'heavy-prog' here.

Really?? That's awesome! I sometimes consider the version of Reba on there to be the best one, as far as the composed sections go. They nail everything.
Yes, it's my favorite of the 20-odd shows I've been to.  I remember that "Reba" well, it was easily one of the highlights of the show.

One thing that was really cool was at the end of the Talking Heads set, something which doesn't come across on the live recording.  At the end of the "The Overload", people with various machinery (e.g. a jackhammer, televisions) started coming on stage, and the members of the band left the stage one by one, until by the end there was just a cacophany of machine sounds and smoke.  I remember when it stopped and the house lights came on, I could still feel the roar of the machines reverberating through the room.

First listen.Headbanger

I think Haken are going to take over as my second favorite prog-metal band, beating out Riverside.

Love, love, love this album. Don't care if it's original or not. Middle period Pendragon is my favorite. I don't like their heavier direction at all.

Shame... I love both directions Smile

And it's guilty pleasure time in the JS19 household:
