Mobland
Somewhat starry cast that is perfect for this Guy Ritchie series that focuses on Pierce Brosnan's and Hellen Mirren's over the top Irish gangster couple who even seem to hate each other! Both were also in the 1980 British film The Long Good Friday, a film that Ritchie sites as a big influence on his film making. This accidentally (or deliberately?!) expolres similar themes to that movie (Hubris, the world order changing, the old being replaced by young blood). Totally addictive and brilliantly acted drama. More seasons to come hopefully.

The Better Sister
Amazon just dropped all 8 episodes without the usual hype so this must be bad then? Nope, it's actually one of the most bingeable shows I've watched this year. Stars Elizabeth Banks and Jessica Biel as the 'sisters'. Banks' character is so called 'trailer trash' who gives up her young son to her sister (played by Biel) due to her own negligence and alcholism. Then everything blows up yeraas later when the boys father is seemingly murdered. Intriguing twisty plotting, extremely well acted by Biel and Banks, but some fine support also comes from the likes of Cory Stoll, Matthew Modine and Kim Dickens. Deserves better than its 7/10 on IMDB.
