After this poll I plan on dropping to Zero then moving up to and ending at Three. Then we're done. I am a "save the best for last" guy to a fault. And 1973 and 2003 are outstanding in my world. So I want to end with those two polls with some of my favourites in each.
Four II looks at 2004, 2014 and 2024. One vote.
There's six on here I could vote for in a heart beat, but nothing is standing out so I'll be back.

To Be Kind, a real monster of an album, if a bit more friendly than The Seer from the year before.

I also like the Guapo, Aristocrats, Present, and Opeth. Should listen to the UZ, which is maybe their only regular release I don't know.
I make typos so you see I'm not a machine, but I may be a machine pretending to not be a machine.

Swans' To Be Kind is my favourite album from 2014 and gets my vote. Before I got into that, Guapo's Five Suns would have got my vote (such a great album). Motorpsycho's or Magick Brother & Mystic Sister would be my third choice, followed by Univers Zero. Liked the Indukti and only tried the Present once.
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

That UZ album is one I really liked when I first spent time with it, but then years later I spent some more time with it and it clicked big time. I love that record and the new one. Weird, as UZ fans aren't big on either for the most part.
Guapo is very tempting here. Five Suns sounds so much like Anekdoten at times.

Thanks Greg, I'm not surprised at the Swans pick but it's cool to see you like that UZ album. And that's a top five Motorpsycho record for me, and Indukti's debut is incredible with the guest appearance of the Riverside singer. Tarot Part 1 is a top five for 2024 for myself as well.

My second or third for 2014. It's amazing (like almost all of Swans), but when I'm in the mood for "comeback-Swans" I usually reach for The Glowing Man or The Beggar.

Guapo - Five Suns got my vote. A jaw-dropping discovery almost two decades ago, and I've never stopped listening to it (or Black Oni + Elixirs - where Jarboe is a guest). Up to that point, I don't think I was aware "new bands" were making this kind of music.

I did not know (or recall) that Jarboe guested on Elixirs. I got that album in 2008 when it was released and was not yet into or knew Swans. Black Oni was my first by Guapo and I fell hard for that album and it remained my particular favourite by the band for years (and one of my very favourite album period). I should listen to Elixirs, much as I liked it, it was a step down from those earlier releases to me. I actually have not listened much to Guapo in years, Swans is a much more recent fascination, so that's a reason why To Be Kind is my choice over Five Suns. I love the Glowing Man and The Beggar, and To Be Kind is up there for me too. I like or love every Swans studio release and the lives I know from 1987's Children of God up. It has been one of the most significant bands to me in recent years and I look forward to this year's Birthing, set to be officially released I think in three or so days (end of May).

I just noticed Swans have a massive triple disc out called "Birthing", new for 2025. Gira has some interesting thoughts when talking about it. Saying the band will go on after this as long as he is able, but pared down from here on out.
