Topic: Tulips & Ayreon Posted: March 21 2006 at 05:02 |
A very goodday to all of you from the land with export-products like tulips, wooden shoes & Ayreon!
Well, this is about introducing me, so I'll just begin. Age: 22 Bands I really, really like: Dream Theater, Opeth, Pain of Salvation, Pink Floyd, Ayreon. You see that I'm not really that much into prog as every man needs to be ! The main reason for that is that 1. I'm a student and can't buy all the albums I want and 2. I listen to various other artists/music styles, like: jazz, blues(rock) metal and so on.
The reason for registering here is that I never even knew about this site (whoops!), and this is exactly what I need to start to listen more prog! See you all around!

Thanks guys!
Can't say I've figured it all out yet... it's pretty big, when I
compare it to other forums I'm subscribed to. Maybe I'll just stick to
this one!

Welcome, fellow Dutchman, I hope you like the interview I did with Ayreon, I published it a month ago on this site. If you need advise, let me know, I love to give recommendations because when I started to know more about progrock I was pleased myself with some help.

I must tell you that I haven't had the opportunity yet to read the
interview, but the interview was the reason for me for registering,
because I stumbled upon it, and 'discovered' the forum
And don't mind if I actually do ask for your advise! Thanks for the kind words!

Don't tell me you want to because of all the softdrugs we got here....
('cause we've got loads of other stuff: harddrugs, special suburbs with a prostitute for everyone etc. etc.)

Welcome!
But: would you rather have roses on yer piano...

or (hyuk!) tulips on yer organ?

Well, if you put it that way... I'll go for the piano and it's roses. Allthough the organ reminds me of Deep Purple's Machine Head, and that's not necessarily a bad thing .

Well, I can only imagine how you think of our country. We ofcourse
think of it as absolutely normal, and we just start bitching when the
government buys a culturally interesting painting of about 35 million
euro's.
Maybe we can do some sort of exchange project . I've been to the States two times, and can't wait to go there again! |
Yeah, I'm sure I'm romanticizing somewhat about how things are over
there. Looking at things through "tulip-colored glasses", if you will.
It's always good sport to bitch about your government, that's what government is for, isn't it?

You're absolutely right. Look: if they bought a culturally interesting instrument from some group that no longer exists, I would be the first to throw demonstrating people of the barricades, believe me.
But the hiddeous painting 'Victory Boogie Woogie' (the name! the horror!). No, I absolutely can not live with that...
