I can definitely hear more RIO influences in this album than any of their others... especially in the intense parts.

Now this is their "odd" album.  I'm not sure where it ranks in comparison to their other material, but I already like it more than Choirs of the Eye.  But even considering my undetermined opinion, I definitely think it's better than the 3.47 on rateyourmusic.

Well, its defintiely better than Dowsing Anamone with Copper Tongue IMO, it doesnt ahve any of those long, repetative parts that marred ___On Limpid Form and Amaranth the Peddler. Will have to give it  a lot more listens after I buy it to decide if its better than Choirs of the Eye.

edit: I've heard at the very least they have new shirts on tour with them, so hopefully that goes up on their site with the album release

Just listened to it and starting over again.

I have to admit though, I don't like it as much as the previous two and certainly not as much as the three MotW albums.

Anyways - I am sure it will grow on me with time.

Considering I just started my first listen, I have pretty strong impressions so far. Which is good, yet odd considering how long it took me to grow into the previous albums.

The title track is kind of iffy to me, but I think it'll grow. It jsut seems to sound so oddly produced, fuzzy at times and things like that. It was distracting to me on first listen.

Clelia and Right Hand... are righteously amazing though, in my opinion.

I'm sure the album will deliver :) Probably be another 5-star product for me.
I'm a reasonable man, get off my case

I must say, this is almost certainly going to be the album of the year (unless the new Wolf Parade is as good as the last one, or something else absolutely brilliant pops up).

The chamber jazz rock mix is absolutely fantastic.

The Awkward Windwheel and Symmetrical Arizona are fabulous.

Also, Toby's lyrics>Jason's lyrics

Love the satire of The Useless Ladder.

Thumbs%20Up

After first listen there is probably more stuff I like to stuff I don't like. The title track and the three "The" tracks are great. I love the woodwiind work and the jazzy feel. I do think though less lyrics would be a good idea..the instrumental passages are much more impressive IMO. I do also miss the heaviness of their past releases, but the jazziness makes up for most of it.

I will probably get this soon after release. And props to them for streaming it. ApproveClapClap
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

This album was actually my first time listening to Kayo Dot, so it sounded a bit weird to my ears, but I'll give it some more time to grow on me.
