I counter your lack of frills with an equally plain answer of: IA edited a couple of minutes later by some grumpy dude: IQ IQ IQ, I meant IQ, friggin keyboard

I don't have an unnatural obsession with Disney Princesses, I have a fourteen year old daughter and coping mechanisms.

As a long term, fanatical Marillion fan, the answer is obvious - IQ.
Since discovering IQ last year (through this site) I have played them more than anyone else. Their performance at NEARfest in 2005 (as on the Stage DVD) is the most musically perfect performance I've ever seen. I now think IQ may be one of the best 3 bands ever.
It's not that I don't love Marillion anymore; I just love IQ even more.

Both are good, but Fish-era Marillion is the best neo prog band ever. Can't be beat for me.

Marillion, but not by a long distance. 'Tales from the Lush Attic' and 'The Wake' are as good as the best Marillion albums.

IQ

The water rushes over all
cities crash in the mighty wave;
the final man is very small,
plunging in for his final bathe

Marillion by a very slim margin. I like IQ a lot, and I've not heard all te Hogarth era Marillion stuff. What I have heard, has not won me over like many IQ albus have, but the Fish era Marillion is just more consistenetly good imo.
Best Marillion albums = Script/Fugazi
Best IQ - Ever/Dark Matter

I also discovered IQ through this site, and am really enjoying the richness of their music. But I've followed Marillion right from the start, and in recognition of the sheer joy and pleasure their music has brought me throughout those years, I have to go for them.
