This poll includes some "good" songs from the Avant Prog genre.  Which are your favorites?  Admittedly, my avant collection is fairly small, so these were but the ones that I am aware of so feel free to provide others.  Unfortunately, only a couple of them are actually on YouTube, so I was unable to make up a YouTube playlist, so this will likely die a faster and quicker death then the rest of my polls.

Lots I like not on the list of course as I am big on avant prog, but there is one track that really stood out for me from this list from one of the avant prog albums that I got into quite early in when exploring the scene. Vortex' "God Is Good For You, John" got my vote.
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

It's mainly a funny thing, but I really like Salmon Boots by Uberband

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Of course there are "Good" avant songs more important to me that I could have suggested (even by Vortex themselves), but - God Is Good For You, John stood out immediately.

No vote. However, three that come to mind (there are no doubt more if I put my mind to it) are The Residents - Edweena, Cardiacs - The Everso Closely Guarded Line, and Lost Crowns - Sound as Colour.

It should be noted that all of the "good" songs in the poll have good in the title.

^ As did I. I don't like this nearly as much as the Vortex, and I know you don't care for Cardiacs, but since ipd mentioned "The Everso Closely Guarded Line" by Cardiacs(which may my favourite by Cardiacs), I will mention "There's Good Cud". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH6hhr_b790

I actually don't seem to have much "good" avant prog in my collection, especially that which is both "good" and good.

Hard for me to not vote for that Vortex song.

Ah, ok, I did not notice that... both avant prog AND "good" in the title.

not "good" in the title but "beautiful", which is somehow related: "Beautiful as the Moon, Terrible as an Army with Banners" by Henry Cow. I would even call it a beautiful song

^Why must you always mention something unrelated to the question? Your self-righteous opinions are rude, unhelpful, and irritating.

first of all I don't think it is unrelated; I did on the contrary explain the relation. second I don't see what this has to do with self-righteousness. third: why do you always have to react so grumpy? Wink

As has been figured out by others, this poll only includes songs with the word "good" in the title.  My last poll only included songs with the word "bad" in the title.  I thought I would be "cute" and create a poll with the opposite.  I came up with 70 songs from my collection that had "good" in the title, so instead decided to break it down by the avant genre, which gets a lot of love in this forum, but not necessarily a lot of polls.  Anyhow, I generally like to include a YouTube link to all of the songs, but many of these are on Cuneiform, and they are a label that is smart enough not to share all of their music for free, so people actually spend money to buy their artists' albums.  What a novel concept!!!

The more people abandon big corporation platforms the better, I think.

Anyway, voted Beefheart of course.
