Topic: Yet another "Hi Im New" Topic Posted: November 11 2006 at 22:27 |
Right well Im from Australia which dosnt get much prog exposure from around the world which I think sucks so anyway ive been on the site for a while now and decided to get some recommendations on prog possibly or just a general chat about music in general.
I like:
Clean vocals (Harsh only when necessary eg: Ayreon's Day 16: Loser when Rage explodes)
Good technical guitar work but not over the top
Piano and keyboards
The general bands I like listening to are:
Muse
Queensryche
Dream Theater
Fates Warning
Porcupine Tree
Riverside
Ayreon (Any of Arjens work is good though)
So yeh any help would be appreciated thanks guys

I'm from Australia too. Where are you. I'm in Melborune.
Anyway have you tried anything by Rush or Yes, or maybe Anathema?

I recommend Trans Siberian Orchestra for Christmas Music and also their CD Beethoven's Last Night.
Give them a listen, I think you might like.
I also recommend Glenn Hughes, I have his 2 CD's of King Arthur themed music they were projects with other artists guesting. Very well produced.
Everything you have listed I have at least one of their Cd's - more of Dream Theater .
Take care.

I'd recommend getting Judgment or Alternative 4, they were originally a doom metal band BTW.

Listen to clubsprints suggestions, excellent ones.
I'm near Melbourne, Florida. That has to count for something.

Thanks for the vote . Melbourne Florida's gotta be some sort of sister city.
