A Charitable Request

I apologize that this post is not only not music-related, but relates to something quite serious...

I am posting this because my best friend, and singer in my band (Shadow Circus), is on his way to dialysis because of Polycystic Kidney Disease. The following is quoted from a message from a PKD volunteer who is trying to get Starbucks to run a charitable fund to help raise funds for research for this disease...

This is not a SPAM or anything remotely suspicious, so please don't worry! All you have to do is create a Starbuck's login and cast a vote to support this idea:

Starbucks is soliciting community-building ideas, so someone suggested that Starbucks donate a penny per transaction to PKD research. Why Starbucks? Because one of their baristas donated a kidney to a customer, a woman with PKD -- and the story made national news, all the way up to the Today Show and CNN. Please help us nurture this relationship with Starbucks. Here's how (These instructions look complicated but it's really, really quick): 1. Click here: http://mystarbucksidea.force.com/home/home.jsp 2. Where it says "Sign In", please create an account. Make up a User Name, Password, email address and screen name. 3. The next page offers you the option to "Vote" so please click on the "Vote". 4. The page after that offers you a search box in which you should type in "PKD." 5. The page after that shows the name of the campaign: How about "A Penny to Fight PKD" Campaign. Click on it. 6. Finally, on this page, click on the check mark "VOTE." It will add 10 points to our voting score. Scroll down and add your comments, so Starbucks can really feel why this matters.
