I believe this duo could fit under Crossover prog, check them please: http://www.tangentsmusic.com/ Taken from Freeman Promotions:
TA N G E N T S isn't really a band, but an evolution of what bands have and will become in the 21st century; an internet collaboration, a long distance relationship between two musicians that take full advantage of new technologies. And while making a record in the absence of each other’s company sounds as if it could be a recipe for disjointed disaster, T A N G E N T S debut album, "One Little Light Year" sounds completely real, cohesive and best of all, really, really good. Lush and melodic, seductive and experimental, organic and alternative, T A N G E N T S is not what you may expect from a duo containing Derek Kerswill (Unearth/Seemless), and Dave Witham. Kerswill's musical diversity and rhythmic approach help to provide a solid foundation for the album, propelling the tracks forward with great intensity, but it is the strengths of singer/guitarist Dave Witham that makes this project soar in the vein of Jeff Buckley, As Tall As Lions, or even Radiohead. Witham’s magnificent voice rises over the spiraling sonic backdrop with dazzling control and splendor. Ambitious songwriting creates the catchiest music either musicianhas released to date. |

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Looking at the progfreak chart, apparently not. http://progfreak.com/Tangents,_dbe,artists,_auto_3332647.xhtml?path=pa/recent It was rejected by Crossover. |

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

And it's 3 NO votes, unanimous result. I don't remember the music, but it seems like we were sure about it. EDIT: Sorry here. Edited by Marty McFly - October 12 2010 at 15:57 |
