What was their best album? I think Soundgarden have made great stuff all throughout their career, but Superunkown, with Down on the Upside at a very close second

The variety and consistency of Superunknown makes it their best for me.
Surprisingly, King Animal might just be my second favorite, it dethroned Badmotorfinger, which now comes third.
Hated Down on the Upside and never cared for what came before Badmotorfinger...

I haven't heard them all, but I can't imagine a stronger 90s mainstream rock album than Superunknown.

I'm so tempted to say King Animal but Superunknown is just too good.

My favorite album was Louder than Love, but the variety and musicianship and lasting power of Superunknown cause it to win for me.

Superunknown has some great songs but a lot of boring ones in between. I'm choosing Down on the Upside.

Superunknown may be their most popular album, but it has some duds on it.

I think in Superunknown everything just came together perfectly, songs, sound...everything.
My second choice would be Louder Than Love. I've put my King Animal cd away for a while, it didn't impress me....I have to revisit.

I just listened to Superunknown for the first time today, it was pretty good, although because I was at work I was only partially focussed on it.

Superunknown is my all time favorite album, so picking the top spot was easy, but ordering out the rest is tough.  How I feel today, this is probably what it would look like:

1. Superunknown
2. Badmotorfinger
3. Down On The Upside
4. King Animal
5. Louder Than Love
6. Screaming Life/Fopp
7. Ultramega OK

2-4 shuffle around constantly, just depending on my mood, while 5-7 stay right where they're at.
