Difficult indeed. But, I'm sure the guys will at least have fun with this one.

Just a couple of 22-minute and 16-minute EPs but hopefully that will be enough for the team. Nice music and this wil be an interesting eval. Post/Math/jazz fusion, with some electronics and a bit of heavy (JR/F was my initial impression, until I heard that other stuff). Possibly Eclectic but there's also a lot of jangly pop in there. Hard to pinpoint where this might fit, and you'll probably have to wait a while to hear about this one.

Five more tracks on either soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/#clevergirlmusic, myspace: http://www.myspace.com/clevergirlboston or reverbnation: http://www.reverbnation.com/clevergirl.
Don't envy the guy who gets to write their bio though (should they be approved) from what they give away here...One (different) meaningless line of nonsense on each site!

"Clever Girl is a band that formed in Arlington, Massachusetts in 2009.
They released their ‘No Drum and Bass in the Jazz Room’ EP in 2010 and their ‘Clever Girl’ EP in 2011. Facebook | Website" Their website appears to be quite dead, unfortunately ![]() But, the music is, thankfully, timeless, and quite good at that. They are labeled as a mixture between post-rock, math rock (genres that overlap frequently, anyway), and jazz, noted by the use of horns in their instrumentation. While retaining a number of post/math elements, their overall sound is quite experimental and off the wall, so Eclectic could possibly be my first choice, with especial reverence given to the jazz elements, but have a listen for yourselves: Edited by CoolJimmi - May 17 2013 at 20:42 |
