Plesiosaurio is a slightly heavier symphonic prog band from Buenos Aires, founded in San Carlos de Beriloche, in 2012. Plesiosaurio released 2 full-lenght, live recorded albums: "Live at The Hearl Mergent Garden" released in May 2015 and "ARSAT - 2 1/2" released in November 2014. Due to Plesiosaurio's nice retro style, i thought that they could be a nice addition to PA as well.

Definitely prog, with some symphonic leanings too...but as you pointed out - both albums are live recordings, and I'm not sure that the production would be regarded as professional enough for them to be granted an evaluation on here (but I could be wrong). Compositions are long - with all of them being at least 9 minutes, and several songs exceeding 20 minutes. They have a good selection of stuff on YouTube too: https://www.youtube.com/user/PLESIOSAURIUS" rel="nofollow - https://www.youtube.com/user/PLESIOSAURIUS .

Sound quality for a 2015 recording is unacceptable. Music qualifies as long as I can tell. Need a more professional recording to evaluate.

Hello, I just found out that this guys had just released their studio album, it's quite acceptable i'd say.

"El cuento de las manos heladas" it's an hour-and-a-half studio album.

Here it is:

Has a bit of everything

Folksy, heavy and mainstream.

NOT SYMPHONIC

If it wasn't for:

http://plesiosaurio.bandcamp.com/track/al-cielo-con-crayones" rel="nofollow -

I would think in Eclectic, but this two tracks are mainstream ballads, so Crossover at the best.

BTW: Lyrics are extremely cheesy.

Why in hell all Argentinians try to sing like Charly García?

Iván

PS: The recording is awful for a 2015 band.

Clap indeed a very nice album with two symph-prog epics which are more than 20 minutes long - "Monte Erebus" is more than 21 minutes long, and the album closer track "Viajero Especial" is even more than 29 minutes long! bravo for Plesiosaurio, bravo for Argentinian symph-prog!

I think there is enough to be considered in HP, regardless of the short quiet tracks - the "main" compositions are symphonic/HP-driven.

My first call would be symphonic but if not, then HP could be a good fit.

On HP charts - crossover would be too mainstream a choice but agree with Ivan on "a bit of everything"
