Next up.  Poll #11.  One vote, top 2 vote getters move on to 2nd round to face each other. Vote for the album people.. not the group. If you don't know the album, ask, google, youtube it. Lots of great music here man...

Here are the next four up!

ohhh..  one of my favorite groups. Was hard to choose just one.

Electric Light Orchestra!!!

Wishbone Ash!!!!

RUSH!!!!!! LOL

and Hatfield and the North!!!!

(one of my favorite tracks to listen to on the way to work btw..  better than a Winston and a cup of Raff's coffee)

Vegas is laying heavy odds on Rush and Hatfield.. can ELO sneak in. Unlikely but we shall see!

I feel guilty not voting for Hatfield And The North but A Farewell To Kings is one I have known since I was 17 years old. Wishbone Ash then ELO are next.

All are great, but I have to give it to Rush; that album was pretty important in developing my music taste.

didn't expect Argus to be hanging with FtK.  Somewhat surprising. Good album but Rush is..  Rush! LOL

sitting on my vote.. but would give it to Rush if between those two. It looks like ELO is dead in the water so it likely will go to Rush.

I had a suggestion to improve the format and it makes sense so changing this mid vote. Not that it really matters.

The winner of this poll will now get the 2nd place finisher of poll #12. 2nd place here gets the winner of poll #12.

Rush - not even close for me. Wishbone Ash have their moments here and, atypically, I like the poppier side of ELO.  Hatfield is obviously skilled but not my taste.

More heavy prog, please!

^ I did toy with going with ELO's 2nd or 3rd albums (my personal favorites)  but wanted to spotlight the Roy Wood album.

all great.. but unless Jeff Lynne was giving out sex and paying for the honor to get votes .. no way ELO was going to do better than 4th in this grouping no matter what album we went with.

I understand that. Roy Wood is a a unique persona. If you listen to his "Boulders" album: quite original stuff...

Can't believe Rush are pipping Hatfields in this.  It's like replaying my teenage years all over again as I was 'forced' to justify why Hatfield were so brilliant against my more numerous and smug Rush 'friends' -- what's worse, it seems that since then (the late 70s), Rush have been classified as 'prog' - back then, they were faves at the metal discos.  Ah well...

Posted By: micky
Date Posted: June 21 2015 at 07:48
LOL blame it on Argus...  I suspect most of those votes would have gone to Hatfield if in a straight 1 on 1 duel. Perhaps they will meet again in the 3rd round.
