It's something we're not often plagued by; two great Prog tunes coming on two different radio stations at the same time. However, this did happen in my area rather recently. As I scanned what was on, I was faced with a choice, Floyd's Run Like Hell or Rush's Red Barchetta. With some remorse, settled on Red Barchetta and got into it driving down the road. If you were driving in my place, scanning the stations as I was, which would you have chosen?

"Red Barchetta" is an awesome song, much better than "Run Like Hell." IMO, of course.

Normally I'd have voted RB, but Run said something new at a time when Rush had become stuck on traditional songwriting.   Floyd were still moving the border.

Whoa! 6 even so far. Well matched. Some have reflected the same painful dilemma I was faced with.

as good as Red Barchetta as,   Run Like Hell is an absolute masterpiece of a track.

My mind is not really blown by either, but I guess Red Barchetta by a very slim margin.

I am a huge Rush fan, but I always find Red Barchetta to be an overrated Rush song, so RLH is my choice!

Rush for the guitar solo over a synthetic solo. Lyrically over Run Like Hell.
Run Like Hell for the riff but Red Barchetta more varied.
It's a pity Radio stations are desperate for listeners, as I would of played the one they voted least instead.
If I had the job as a station DJ.

I like both songs but Red Barchetta is one of my top 10 favorite Rush songs so that gets the vote

Both are good, but Red Barchetta gets the edge.

I'll give you a clue. My "Barchetta" is blue, but that song still resonates with me.

And no air car would catch me.

I really like both, but Run Like Hell is one of my favorite Floyd songs.

It seems like all the radio songs you hear from the Wall are overplayed(Just once I would love to hear "in the flesh?" or "one of my turns" on the radio but the only time that happened was when a rock station in my area played the entire wall album about a year ago or so. Anyway, that's not the case with MP where you often hear "tom sawyer" or "limelight" but only occasionally will hear "red barchetta." So I chose "red barchetta" partly for that reason.

I think that may have been the deciding factor for me too.

Red Barchetta! Possibly the best track on Moving Pictures. Multi-layered and more than the sum of its parts when the band stitched it all together.

Red Barchetta is much more of a production that works the imagination. Run Like Hell is just another song off that album.

Highly recommend listening to the 1980/81 live version with both of them singing.
