Do you people have...

An album that everyone in the PA community loves but you hate, or consider it to be terribly overrated.

or/and

An album that everyone in the PA community loathes or has given it a low rating but you personally love.

Wich one? And what is your reasoning behind your peculiar opinion?

I won't really try to justify it, and I won't say everyone loves it, but Close to the Edge has never appealed to me much. I do like the title track. I wouldn't say that I hate any of the album, more like I find it dull overall. I generally don't like claiming that music is overrated by people, but I just don't see the brilliance to it that various other people do.
To each his or her own tastes. For a three track album, I find Bubu's Anabelas so much more satisfying. I'm not generally a big fan of albums in symphonic prog, though.

And as for albums often dismissed as poor that I happen to like a lot, Comus' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNj96K5pJto" rel="nofollow - To Keep From Crying and Magma's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LShuGo_WyR0" rel="nofollow - Merci spring to mind. They aren't terribly consistent albums, but that doesn't bother me, and I rather like that both albums are different from the others in each band's oeuvre. I do prefer the second side of Merci for sure, but I enjoy all on the first, even the so-weird for Magma "Ooh ooh baby" one.

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

For the first one, I've got quite a few. I wouldn't say that they're "bad" albums, per se, but they just don't appeal to me in any way, shape, or form. A few include Hemispheres, Meddle, Free Hand, and Misplaced Childhood, among others.

As for albums that are generally disliked but I'm actually quite fond of? I don't know if Yes' Talk is quite unpopular enough (average rating of 3.06) but I actually feel that it's the strongest album Yes did after Tales From Topographic Oceans and it holds a very dear place in my heart.

Personally, I find Selling England by the Pound and Misplaced Childhood very overrated. For me, they are the weakest opuses of Gabriel, resp. Fish's eras.

For sure, Dancing With the Moonlit Knight and Firth of Fifth are great, but I never understood how such an uneven album, with I Know What I Like, More Fool Me and the "too much sung parts" (?) controverted "Battle of Epping Forest" on it, can be considered as a prog masterpiece.

Concerning Misplaced Childhood, this is more 80's cheesy pop with a few progressive elements in it. An album such as Script... is a much more worthy representative of neo-prog IMHO.

Hate is a big word, but I don't really like Ok Computer or anything else by Radiohead.
Also I think Porcupine Tree is very overrated.

On the other hand, I think that Moody Blues, Saga and Barclay James Harvest deserve more attention.

I see the Die Mensch Maschine has another 4 star review (a well written review to be sure, no knock there) sitting on the front page. I would seriously rather listen to about six of my power tools turned on and laying on a piece of sheet metal. Very few people seem to dislike it.

On the flipside, I find St. Anger to be Metallica's only listenable album since And Justice for All. And since. The rest is Jockrock drivel.

Not sure if this counts but I have read many reviews and know quite a few friends that highlight Gandalf's Fist 2016 triple release Clockwork Fable as one of the finest modern prog releases.
I personally find it to be the cheesiest album I've heard in years bar none.
