Hackberry is a relative new Instrumental Heavy Prog band from the Netherlands. They formed in 2015, released their first EP “Desert Orchid” late 2016 and this month they released their self-titled full length debut album “Hackberry”:

Full Biography:

HACKBERRY is an Instrumental Heavy Prog band formed in Groningen, the Netherlands in 2015. HACKBERRY started out as an instrumental trio. Soon a second guitar player joined, and by adding a key player they completed the bands formation.

Late 2016 they released their first EP “Desert Orchid”, a 13.5 minute instrumental song. In September 2018 they released their self-titled debut album “Hackberry”. This album contains 4 songs with a total run time of 45 minutes. It also includes a polished version of “Desert Orchid”.

The style of HACKBERRY can be best described as Instrumental Heavy Prog, but it also has influences from Classic Prog, Prog Metal, Stonerrock and Pshychedelic Prog. Expect clean melodies, heavy riffs, (dual)guitar solo’s, (Hammond)Organ, Mellotrons and groovy rhythm.

They were on our charts but inconclusive due to limited samples from the EP.
