Dont worry. I have tried unsuccessfully to enjoy Magma. The lyrics are the language of Kobaïa, a fictional planet invented by the drummer, so it makes as much sense as Pigs on the Wing.

You should certainly give them a listen, they are very different so it may be a shock to the system. But they are very good at what they do and you may love it.

Four great albums here.
Animals - possibly Floyd's best album overall.
Songs From the Wood - the best album of Tull's folk era and only bettered by Aqualung
Frequency - the album that showed that IQ still had a life after Martin Orford
But my vote goes to Stationary Traveller, another of Camel's wonderful concept albums which contains 2 of their finest tracks of all - the title track and Fingertips.

Wow, this is a hard one, but I agree with Necrotica.  I imagine most people will disagree but this is when Rush started sounding like their own thing to me. Cold, nerdy, wonderful record.

I would rate them in this order:
  1. Grace Under Pressure
  2. Animals
  3. Trisector
  4. Emehntehtt-Re
  5. Songs from the Wood
  6. Three of a Perfect Pair
  7. Camera Camera
The rest I could take or leave...except for The Incident.  I can't remember ever being more disappointed by a release.
