On the 3 King Crimson albums on which he appeared, John Wetton contributed vocals to 10 songs (someone please correct me if I've missed one). Which of these is your favorite?

While I feel very confident about which song will receive the most votes, I'm interested to see how the other nine will fare. Thanks!

I voted for The Night Watch but I suspect Starless will run away with this one.

I'll vote for the only song I know: Starless. I'm clueless about the other nine entries in the poll. Embarrassed

My favorite song is Starless. My favorite Wetton vocal is Book Of Saturdays.

I could vote for any of them. I went with "Easy Money."

As the question asks for my favourite Wetton vocal, rather than my favourite Wetton sung song, my answer is The Great Deceiver. Starless is a more impressive song, but the singing isn’t so remarkable (to me).

It’s quite impossible to pick one song a one the rest. All these song are amazing, and John’s vocals made them even more special.

My very favourite must be Starless (live version for me), but I also love Exiles (as well as others, of course), which has got almost no votes, so I go with that one (I also prefer it live).

Starless is my favorite Kind Crimson song period, so of course it gets my vote, lol.

It is crazy to think about how relatively few songs he sang on compared to his time in the band. Especially when you start digging into live stuff from that period. To me, he's the definitive KC singer, even moreso than Lake or Belew.  You can really feel the deep sorrow in his voice on the darker songs, and his grit suits things like Easy Money and The Great Deceiver perfectly.

If I had to pick a second choice.... Fallen Angel.  That song (and the album as a whole really) is like a sharp, invisible dread plummeting deeper into my skull.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

This was the reason I thought of this poll. He seems like such a significant member of the band's history, but it was pointed out to me that he only appeared on 3 studio albums and sang 10 songs among a lot of instrumentals. It seems amazing he did 7-1/2 albums with Asia (no instrumentals) that, while popular, were nowhere near as influential.

I really love all of them.  But Starless is stellar (pun intended, and absolutely the truth, too).

I'm giving The Mincer some love. That song creeped me out when I first heard it, along with the rest of SABB. I love how impromptu the vocal sounds, and where else did he harmonize with himself? The harmony vocal is so eerie. Almost disembodied. And then the crinkled tape runs out.

Starless is easily my favorite song here but something about his vocal phrasing always bugged me just a wee bit. I’m voting for Exiles instead, for pure vocal performance.

I'm afraid I'm not much of a fan of Wetton's singing, actually. I do wish Lake had sung on Starless and Exiles, I believe he would have done a beautiful job.

I love everything Wetton did with KC. Starless, Fallen Angel, and The Great Deceiver are my top 3.

Nobody ever mentions his vocals on Red! Smile
