The 2nd drummers who...poll.  (Non prog anecdote - a mate of mine saw Rick Astley in a pub recently who gave a flawless rendition of 'Never Going to Give You Up' while playing the drums at the same time...)

From the list Phil, however Andy Sturmer (Jellyfish) is one of my favourite singers ever and he played drums standing up.

Karen Carpenter and Levon Helm receive honorable mentions.

His voice and piano only version is also pretty good. Total different feeling to the song (obviously)

Phil---love his voice primarily in the late 70's ---before he became very self-confident lol

very hard choice.. initial reaction was Phil Collins.

However, the intensity of Vander's singing, and playing is unmatched.

Phil Collins, of course.

I'll mention Nick D'Virgilio, formerly of Spock's Beard.  Another drummer with a really good voice is Deen Castronovo formerly of Journey, and currently of Revolution Saints.

I would like to mention Mani Neumeier of Guru Guru though

Wyatt - love his voice and above all his songs! Collins has his highlights and Vander is great though, both very worthwhile. I mention Bernd Noske of Birth Control.

Ollie Judge of Squid. I didn’t even realise he was the drummer, until watching the Glastonbury gig. (I obviously didn’t pay any attention to the credits of the album, despite it being one of my favourites from last year.)

Wyatt, but Roger Taylor is an excellent singer, too.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

I never really got Vander singing, he's usually got at least 4 great vocalists in the band why not leave the singing to them?

For those of you old enough to remember Buddy Miles (Drummer/Vocals for Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsys) was also the lead vocalist for the TV commercials with the California Raisins.
