Seriously, any of these could have got my vote, but being as I know I'll be the only one voting for the JE album, I went that way.... incidentally, I haven't considered the Jadis because it's a LIVE album?

Don't worry, you're not the only one who voted for Janison Edge, which makes a nice change from me voting for Mostly Autumn in every poll in which they appear. Wink

I honestly think this is the best line-up of albums in this series of polls so far, although others may beg to differ. Tongue

It's hard for me to choose between Camel, Steve Hackett, Nick Magnus and Yes. At the end, I voted for Camel, but not by much.

Number of albums I'd listened to in the poll before 2010 = Only 1 (Dream Theater)

Number of albums I've listened to in the poll now = All 25

Number of CD albums I currently own in the poll = 3 (Anathema; Dream Theater; The Moody Blues)

Voted for..... Janison Edge

Yes, that's a nice one.

I would have voted for Mr. Bungle - California, if I had the chance though (or The Necks - Hanging Gardens, but they are not on PA).

Others I would have considered are:

Rocket Scientists: Oblivion Days
Tiles: Presents Of Mind
ACT: Today's Report
Ark: Ark
Vanden Plas: Far Off Grace
Nolan & Wakeman: Jabberwocky
Iluvatar: A Story Two Days Wide
Mostly Autumn: For All We Shared

For me it was between DT and Yes. I went with DT because Scenes was so fresh when it came out and The Ladder was more a reaffirmation.

I haven't heard those two Anathema albums you mentioned - I've only listened to the albums on their 3-CD box set:- Judgement; A Fine Day to Exit; & A Natural Disaster.

You've got me thinking now, because I actually remember them releasing the album during that winter, but can't remember whether it was Dec 98 or Jan 99? Geek

Polls Apart:- A multi-genre and multi-national round-up of albums I only discovered the day before posting this poll, some of which are poles apart from the music I normally listen to. Smile

5 stars 1999: Like Wendy - Rainchild  (Neo Prog • Netherlands)  -  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1aVd6kmDWWkXZTB3pikoyO6ayL2AW1AO" rel="nofollow - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1aVd6kmDWWkXZTB3pikoyO6ayL2AW1AO

I'm taking a break from polling for awhile, but I'll be back in September (when it'll be Mostly Autumn) with the first batch of 25 prog albums from the Turn of the Century. Smile

My dog had a PTree, other dogs prefer PFire Hydrants. Sorry, a pretty p*ss-poor joke, I know, but I do like to reference the last post often when posting for more flow.

Speaking of flow, this time the 'flowing' fluid being tears, I vote for The Enid - Tears of the Sun.

Like quite a few Marillion albums, it’s ok - has some decent songs but others less memorable. See also This Strange Engine, Holidays In Eden, Sounds That Can’t Be Made, Anoraknophobia……….and Marbles…..although I would rate all of these ahead of .com

Nice to see this album getting some love. Thumbs Up
Marillion.com didn't get much love in this poll, considering only one person voted for it. Tongue

Don't take it so personally. It's just me "goofing around" again. Big smile

It's the beginning of Mostly Autumn here in England on the 1st of September, so with that in mind, here's a quick preview of the 25 prog artists coming up in tomorrow's poll for the year 2000:-

Ian Anderson
Arena
Ash Ra Tempel & Klaus Schulze
Ayreon
Echolyn
The Flower Kings
Greenslade
Hawkwind
Iona
IQ
Jadis
Karda Estra
Karnataka
Kayak
King Crimson
Like Wendy
Martin Orford
Pallas
Porcupine Tree
Spock's Beard
Chris Squire & Billy Sherwood
Taal
Transatlantic
John Wetton
White Willow

See, when Greg does his polls, I sometimes struggle to find a couple out of his 25 which I could reasonably vote for.... whereas at least 10 of the above would easily get my vote, Paul... Clap

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

^ That's good to know, Jared. Thumbs Up In Greg's polls, I'm lucky if there's even a couple of albums I know. Tongue

I'm completely the other way round, I rarely find one or two in Paul's but many in Greg's. Makes sense to have both polls and then the Final.

I've never heard of that band or album before, and besides which, you're unlikely to see any Zeuhl albums in my polls, considering I'd never even listened to a Zeuhl album before today. Wink
