Enter 2005! This one's coming shortly after the previous one, which has a clear favorite so far... I do have a feeling that there are three very clear favorites here as well but let's see how it turns out. Star
My vote goes to the incredible release from The Mars Volta.

Albums with the most votes from the previous polls:
2000: Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun

2001: Tool - Lateralus

2002: Porcupine Tree - In Absentia

That's a tough one, I could vote for half of these.

And there's no Threshold this time around, which you thoroughly support on these poll series. Tongue

it's one of my favorite bands, very consistent, never released a weak album.

I'll make a small list of 2005 albums, the 2000s had a ton of great progressive metal. Smile

very hard to go against Deadwing there...

then, it's DT's last great album > Riverside

it's funny, because putting the Petrucci aside, I literally don't like any of the others at all!

Me too... as you know, Threshold and Vanden Plas are my fave PM bands.. Smile

I hope your list has the first Redemption on it... much prefer it to most of them on this list.

Tough one, but Opeth's best album takes the cake (for me).

Deadwing is top 3 Porcupine Tree easily and so gets my vote although Octavarium is my favourite DT album and although Frances The Mute is insanely brilliant, it scares the sh*t out of me!

PT over The Mars Volta. I just haven't got tired yet of "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here", a sublime 12 minute ride.
I also like The Future Kings Of England debut from this year. That is heavy psychedelia right there.
Electric Masada's "At The Mountains Of Madness" might be my favourite from this year. How about Anekdoten's "Waking The Dead Live" Or Nil's "Nil Novo Sub Sole".
Then a few Prog metal albums I liked back in the day like Shadow Gallery's "Room V", Dark Sun's "Existence" and Patommind's "Shade Of Fate".
Sorry for all the blabbing.

"The wind is slowly tearing her apart"

"Sad Rain" ANEKDOTEN
