mostly referring to bands/artists not listed as any sort of prog/prog related genre or subgenre. In this context, I lean towards things such as Bad Brains (I Against I, Quickness). Toto, their first self titled album and second album Hydra. With all the reviews I read on this site mentioning Toto as an influence, it makes me wonder.
