I have their first album Shake Down. Not too bad, haven't listened to it for quite some time to be honest. Definately not prog, blues rock to be sure. And thats not a bad thing.

Shakedown and Getting To The Point >> straight blues or Blues-Rock with a few blues killers (Mr Downchild for example)

A step Further>> half live album, but three good progressive blues track on studio side >> Life's One Act Play is great

Blue Matter>> in a sense this album can be regarded as the text-book case for blues rock album for groups of the second British Blues Boom wave

Raw Sienna>>> the real masterpiece where these guys are sipmly dazzling very proggy for a blues album lead singer Youlden leaves after this album

Looking In>>> another excemllent album but not quite as bright Lonesome Dave Peverett does not have the reach of Youlden plus he plays rythm guitar

Three of the four members leave and form Foghat >>> much less interesting and musically more limited. >> this is around 72 or 73..... Kim Simmonds is left alone , but recruits everyone (except Stan The Man Webb) from the best Chicken Shack album 100 Ton Chicken

Street Corner Talking>>> a fine album with some classic Savoy tracks, but the old touch is not really there >> they sound more boogie

Hellbound Train >>> Stupendous artwork (both outer and inner gatefold) and title track and one other , but most tracks are weak, but still a classic

Lion's Share>> new vocalist Dave Walker and a much better album than previous

Jack The Toad , Skin'n Bone , Wire Fire quality decrease with each successive album

King Of Boogie (76 I think) >>> Simmonds vs Webb guitar showdown but I never was interested in the album

Savoy Brown went on for ages and tons of records since but none actually are interesting for the proghead unless he is a Blues fan
