Hello, I'm an ex-pat Scot living in NJ. I have a fairly diverse music collection, but I have a lot of prog and associated music. I'm especially fond of space rock (Hawkwind, Eloy, Floyd & their ilk), Krautrock (Can, Neu, etc) and kosmische music (Ash Ra Tempel, Tangerine Dream) and given that I'm (just) old enough to have attended a proper Stonehenge free festival, I got into all the British neo-prog of the early 80s (Pallas, Twelfth Night, Marillion, IQ, Pendragon & others). I'm really looking forward to my first RoSfest next month, having been tempted by the first chance in a few years to see my old pals Pallas perform (and their latest album is their best to date).
More recently, while in the US, I got round to completing my already extensive Rush collection (which started in my punk & metal years as a teenager before all the later more prog stuff) and got into a lot of the riff oriented prog metal, from Dream Theater through Symphony X to Opeth as well as some symphonic metal such as Nightwish and Angra. I'm not beating myself up too much for having missed Threshold while in Britain, since it looks like they tour there as much as they tour here, but wow, they're awesome.
And yes, I love VDGG, so the least we can do is wave to each other.
