I'm thinking about building a "Top 100 Prog Guitar Album" list on my website ... do you think it's a good idea, and would you help me to compile the list?

I would also add the list to my signature service, and eventually I'd add other instruments too (Keyboards, Bass, Saxophone, Flute etc.).

Of course it will be quite simple - all you have to do is rate an album, and I'll add one additional album attribute for each instrument.

Great idea! I'd love to help you with that too. As long as I'm not asked to add anything with Petrucci on it...Wink

Given I've been very rude about "Passion and Warfare" - donated in a good cause to the local charity shop - this might not be for me.....Wink however putting personal tastes to one side I like the idea of the list..go for it!

You're going to have a whole lot of Hendrix, Page, Fripp, Eddie Van Halen, and Petrucci in that list whether you like it or not!
OH! Add Steve Morse and Lifeson to that list as well...

Is Van Halen prog? If it's PROG guitar albums, I'm afraid VH would be quite out of place... On the other hand, let's not forget Blackmore and Gary Moore (who are both in PA)!

well if you go non prog, you need to add neil young and steven stills, while your at it robbie kreiger, mick taylor, peter green. Clapton, harrison, mason, stop before i can t stop myself.

For prog, hackett, howe, gilmour, barre, hodgson, mcglaughlin, ilike the vai, zappa, dimieola trilogy, would add pat metheny. And a local name that had one truly grat alblum Jerry Wood from Finnegan and Wood.

A quick explanation for peopel who arenot familiar with my website: I myself will add no albums to the list which are mentioned here - that will be your job! The only way for you to get your favorite album into that list will be to create an account at my website and add the album yourself.

So the list will be a collaborative effort - like all other parts of my website.Big smile
