This issue has been tocuhed upon a little in other fusion threads but thought it would be good to talk abt or list current-day artists (in and from the 90s onwards) who have imbued the spirit of classic jazzrockfusion and who continue to keep that faith alive and kicking.  PLUS, i'll have a more consolidated list of ppl whose stuff i can check out ahahaha AND have an excuse to list again (and again) my favs............

Don't keep the old torch burning. Change the fire.

Jan Garbarek and Oregon (Ralph Towner too) are still putting out great work. Oregon's latest album from 2005 is excellent. Garbarek's latest isn't quite as good aso some of his other stuff, but it's still very good. I don't know if you consider them fusion (I don't even know if I do myself...), but it's good to see they are still going on and creating great stuff.

man, its all about keeping a spirit, not a sound or style, alive!!!! i don't need no reproductions of the past or golden era, but how do you take inspiration from pioneering exploratory artists and use them in a modern/current context?

or in the case of great artists from that era how do you continue to move ahead and innovate without succumbing to trends or just becoming a cheeseball???
