Marillion
IQ
Arena
Pallas
Pain of Salvation (the new BE dvd just came out I think, have anybody seen it?)
Opeth
Dream Theater

I can definitely recommend "Rush In Rio" As I Rush fan it is everything I could have wished for and more.
Arena's DVD "Caught In The Act" is basic but very enjoyable. Also had Marillions "Recital of The Script" on VHS which was OK.
Just copied Marillion's " Marbles On The Road" which is sonically excellent but the Video is blighted with blue light problems.Very irritating to watch when the colour is smeared. Also Steve Rothery looks like he is auditioning for one of Pink Floyd's inflatable pigs! Sorry Steve, but the only person who looks less like a rock star than you is......Mr Hogarth!

Opeth's "Lamentations" DVD is excellent. Bit straightforward, but the gig and the documentary are both well worth seeing.
King Crimson's "Eyes Wide Open" DVD is also brilliant, if you like the recent stuff, anyway. Two great shows for the price of one! They've also got a new DVD out from the Discipline era, but I don't know if it's any good.
Yes have their "Symphonic" DVD which is a must-buy. Them playing with an orchestra, mostly a "best of" set, sound and picture superb. Only down-side is that there's sod-all extras They've got a new DVD coming out which was filmed last year called "Songs at Tsongas", I believe, but I don't know when it's due out.

Although I am still living in the days of the Pony Express I actually
own a few DVDs. As far as Prog goes The two Focus DVDs are great. One
showing archival footage although the sound sucks there is an
interesting version of Hamburger Concerto as well as a version of Hocus
Pocus with a neat intro. The other one features the recently reformed
band playing old stuff. I`ve got 3 Crimson DVDs as well. You can`t go
wrong with DGM products in terms of quality since Fripp has final say
over everything.

I can help you with a few:
Genesis (Only Bootlegs, because there's not official Gabriel Material and I never bought Collins videos after W&W):
- Musical Box: Bootleg from 1973, average quality, lots of costumes.
- Belgium TV: Only 4 songs without costumes only a white background, good quality.
- W&W tour; Don't know the name, but you can see Bruford and Hackett, very good quality.
YES: Depending what you want: Old material has lower quality but great historic value.
- Yes in the House of Blues. Good release , excelet quality (5.1)
- Yessongs: Good quality for the age of the tape, great selection.
- Yes at QPR: The only video of Yes with Patrick Moraz, Average quality but some flaws. More than 3 hours of Yes classics and the whole Relayer.
- Yes Symphonic: Excellent quality and sound, an almost unknown keyboardist, Orchestral arrangements and a killer version of Gates of Delirium
Jethro Tull:
- Living with the Past: Great quality but they cut some tracks for interviews
- Slipstream: Great material and quality, seems from the Stormwatch tour.
King Crimson:
- Eyes Wide Open: Excellent video and sound quality, multiple angles, not my favorite material
- Neal and Jack and Me: Two concerts, Three of a Perfect Pair Live in Japan 1982 (Good quality, stereo) and The Noice - Live in Frejus 1982
ELP:
- Pictures at an Exhibition: Would be better if the didn't included those horrible animations and pseudo psychedelic collors.
- Live at Montreaux: Good video quality, average material.
- Live at the Royal Albert Hall: Beter video and material.
- Works Orchestral Tour: Not good recording but decent material
Can't help you with Neo Prog' material because it's not my cup of tea and try to avoid it. But I encourage you to buy:
- Pendragon - Live at Last: Outstading DVD from te Masquerade Overture tour.
Hope it helps you GFoyle, if you want info about other bands, only ask.
Iván

Although outside the parameters of prog rock, I heartily recommend the Led Zeppelin DVD which shows the band live over the years and culminating with the 1979 Knebworth Festival gig.

IQ -IQ20 Twentieth Anniversary Show DVD is well worth getting (7/10),includes good extras as well. Also the Subterranea DVD (6/10) is good as well.
Rush In Rio - excellent 9/10
Yes Symphonic is my favourite 10/10.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
ELP -Pictures At An Exhibition I rate as about 6/10 for the DVD..you don't get the whole concert unforunately and there's no extras.
ELP - Orchestral DVD (Works Live) hampered by poor quality sound and picture quality although is a great concert with the 'customized' orchestra and you get the Manticore Documentary which is a very good extra ..about 7/10
ELP - Masters from The Vaults -Belgium concert from about 1971,good sound quality although Mono ..that's about 7/10 as well.

I'll stick in another vote for Yes Symphonic - that DVD actually made
me want to reappraise TFTO after witnessing that killer version of
Ritual, but after another listen I concluded that the production and
padding was just too great and I still have yet to enjoy that album.
Though I STILL haven't seen it I'd also suggest the ENTIRE FORUM
invests in the Giant on the Box DVD - who knows? If they sell
enough maybe they'll have a reunion tour! Maybe? Just a little one?
Pleeeease? *sighs* I was born in the wrong decade.

Actuall, it's from the 'A' tour. Hard to find on it's own, but it comes
with the remastered version of 'A'. It's pretty good if you can ignore
the excessive 80s visual effects. Also, they just recently released
'Isle of Wight Festial 1970' on DVD. Haven't seen it yet though.

The ELP in 'Montreux' which was very good but a bit dead on it's feet, really got going half way through.
One called ELP live in concert which is good & some great footage.Which is probably the same as your Orchestral DVD Richard but has a clip of them at Isle of wight.
The Yes 'Symphonica' Fantastic.
Yes Live in Philidelphia' which is shocking sound & vision.
O & a box set of Gerry Andersons 'UFO' series from '70 just for old times sake.

You're right, I thought it could be from the Stormwatch tour because all the visual references to storms and for the year of recording (1980) but seems you're right, it's the "A" Tour.
But there are also some parts recorded during previous years like the video clip of Too Old To Rock & Roll, To Young to Die with the amazing Eddie Jobson on keyboards.

The only Gentle Giant I have recently bought (to be honest the only one I have ) is Giant on the Box, released in June 2004, I believe it's the only official GG DVD until now, but not sure because I don't know very much about this good band.
This DVD features:
- 1974 concert from German TV station ZDF: Cogs in Cogs, Proclamation, Funny Ways, The Runaway, Experience, Features from Octopus, Advent of Panurge, So Sincere. [50 minutes] (Excellent footage)
- 1975 US TV concert from the Terrace Theater, Long Beach, California: Experience, Features from Octopus, Advent of Panurge, Funny Ways. [30 minutes] (I hate when the US stations add applausses, specially when you notice the people in the audience is not making the noise)
- Szene '74: rare footage from the 1974 tour, German television station BRW. [3 minutes]
- Baroque & Roll: black & white footage and interview from Italian television. [22 minutes] (very interesting)
- Photo gallery [36 photos]
- Bonus audio CD of the ZDF concert!
Iván
PS: Just checked the Official Home Page of GG and only found a 4 CD box (12 Hours!!!!) called Scrapping the Barrell, but no other official DVD.

I would like to recommend the following items :
- Yessymphonic, House of Yes, Yesyears : excellent soundquality, yesyears is a documentary which you can only play once
- Steve Hackett : The Tokyo tapes includes songs from Hackett, Asia and King Crimson, the line-up includes John Wetton, Ian McDonald and Chester Thompson ; very nice concert, good quality
- Styx - Return to paradise : dynamic performance, good quality
- Kansas - device voice drum : one of the best concert video's I ever saw in my life, great tracklisting, great quality
- Pink Floyd - The Wall - the movie, if you like the album off course
- ELP - Works orchestral : not so very good quality but a great gig you must have seen
- Marillion - "recital of the script (including the web and grendel") and "live at loreli", these fantastic performances takes you back to long ago, good quality
- Rush in Rio - one of my favourites -I still play it regulary
- Kayak - Merlin : fantastic performance, double dvd, the second dvd consists of a best of...
- IQ - twenty anniversary show and Subteranea especially are very good
- Genesis - the way we walk and live at Wembley - the Phil Collins era but still includes some older material like los endos, the old medley. I also like those eighties epics (home by the sea, Domino, tonight, Driving the last spike and Dreaming while you sleep
-Roger Waters - in the flesh - great performance although some of the versions sound quite odd when hearing them for the first time without David Glimour (Wish you were here), but once you'll get used to that, enjoy the perfect tracklisting with a lot of old Floyd material. Line up includes Snowy White and Jon Carin and one very beautiful backing singer
- Steve Hackett - Once upon time - his latest tour, quite appealing as it has some Genesis stuff, played just like the original, stage performance is never too excitable on Hackett DVD's but none of it are really bad, soundquality great !
- Asia in America if you like the bandl

My favorite ELP DVDs:
- Master from the Vaults... this one is priceless. It splices together 2 shows done for a Belgian tv show, early in the 70s. Try to find when they splice by Greg or Keith changing clothes in a split second.
- Live at Montreux... I didn't find this one dead at all musically.. but it was about 100 degrees on stage (thats about 37C) and you can really see that it was kinda miserable for the band. Never seen any of them perspire that much... Greg looks quite uncomfortable thru the whole thing, but does a really wonderful job vocally and musically. Keith does an absolute spectacular job on Creole Dance and most his ELP songs, even tho you can see the curling in his hands from his surgery. Thats what makes it really special to watch... you know he's in pain, and yet he plays even harder than before...
My favorite Pink Floyd DVD:
- Live at Pompeii - even with the fake flowing lava, the version of Echoes is the best!!
My favorite Yes DVD:
- Yes Symphonic
But I'm really waiting for this!! - ELP have a new double cd coming out in June that includes some entire shows from the early 70s as well as that California Jam video. Info on it can be found at:
Synopsis:
Between 1970 and 1978, Emerson, Lake and Palmer were one of the most exciting rock bands on the planet. From their stunning start at the Isle of Wight Festival, they were never afraid to tear up the rulebook and take risks, both on stage and on record.
A year in the making, this stunning 2 disc set pulls together the great moments from one of the 70`s most successful and exciting bands; Emerson Lake and Palmer. For most of the decade, this dynamic trio pushed back the boundaries of what was possible in rock. Ambitious musical projects, massive, over the top stage shows and an insatiable desire to try bigger and better things meant that it could not last, but for several years, this was 70`s rock at its very best.
It includes performances from every stage of their career, including 44 minutes of ELP headlining the massive California Jam Festival in 1974 on Disc 2. This rare and spectacular footage has never been released before and captures the band at the peak of their powers with a production to match. Much sought after by fans, this film includes the famous spinning piano sequence.
The DVD also contains the full-length version of Beyond The Beginning, an hour-long documentary, which tells the story of this remarkable band with a refreshing honesty and candour. Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer talk about the band`s formation, rise to glory and decline in the late 70`s and the personal dynamics that drove the band".

Don't believe so Reed, at least Cesar Inca is going to buy it too
Now seriously, ELP was one of the first prog' groups to come to Lima, and the producers decided to sell 5,000 tickets, Keith had that problem in his hand so the concert had to wait 3 or 4 months.
When they came, there was people offering US$ 400.00 for my US$ 80,00 tickett (VIP), they had to create 2,500 more standing places at the back. 7,500 is a big number for a prog' Concert in Lima, so there are a lot of ELP fans.
Only Yes concert was bigger with almost 12,500 to 15,000 seats (Full hall).
Just in Lima I believe there are 5 thousand active prog' fans and about the double of Prog' lurkers, so it's not such a small number.
Imagine this, in the stores you can't find any prog DVD (Stupid fellows who believe 5,000 fans is not enough) so a couple of times I had to go to the black markett (An open place and police does nothing to stop them) 80% of the DVD's availlable are progressive, so if this guys have prog', they must sell it.
There you can get for example Living with the Past DVD for less than 3 bucks, perfect copy but usually no extras, that's the main reason why I almost always get originals, except when it's impossible.
