I'd switch and put Phil Manzanera over Peter Banks but what do you expect from a Roxy guy?

Good for Gibson for making a prog list. Sure most of the list should be included in greatest guitarists regardless of genre, but I will take what I can.

Not sure I agree ENTIRELY, but oh well... I would've included some more modern greats like Mikael Akerfeldt and Paul Masdival but there you go. Nobody cares for prog metal musicians these days Cry

Yeah, like Alex said, that wouldn't be my list if it were up to me but obviously the guys on the list are amazing guitarists nonetheless.
Despite the picture, Steve Hackett isn't a Gibson guy either. Obviously he used to be though, but he switched to Fernandes guitars.

Hmm, pretty sure he left Ibanez in very early 2000, because I remember reading the very first time he was taking the EBMM JP guitars on tour was on the SFAM tour.
Strange that he did leave too, considering Ibanez were still in their 'golden' age at the time, what with the RG 7620s and the awesome S Series guitars they had at the time, ah well.
I tend to think his Ibanez guitars are actually cooler looking and I prefer the 17 inch fretboard radius rather than the EMBB's 15 inch radius, but the EBMM JP has a better cutaway for upper fret access though.

Good listSmile

But SURELY Gilmour's a Fender man thru & thru? I've seen him with a Les Paul in a couple of clips but (definitely in Floyd, who I've seen thrice) he's almost always armed with a Strat. Maybe he's gone into Gibson on his solo stuff (I've only got On An Island), but I've rarely seen him without the Strat.

It's not that I can't find worth in anything, it's just that I can't find worth in enough.
