Hey everyone! Star
So I really enjoy listening to Pink Floyd, Camel, Caravan, Gong, Harmonium, and King Crimson. Are there any other similar bands/albums I should listen to? I like the "mellow/sad/chill/organ/flute" kindof music a lot Tongue
Thanks in advance!

If you like some more somber, contemplative mellow music, I would direct you to post-rock outfits like Sigur Rós or Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

But given your listed bands of interest, you should really be listening to Jethro Tull or Yes if you aren't already.

Yes Sigur Ros' ( ) album is pretty depressing LOL - I also have a few tracks of Yes, but I'll need to get some more. I've heard of Jethro Tull, but never listened to any of their songs. Which album do you recommend?

I second  Thick as a Brick

Possibly The Flower Kings as well, if you want some newer stuff.

Using that criteria (mellow/sad/chill/organ/flute), I will suggest these:

Jethro Tull- Minstrel in the Gallery
The Decemberists - Castaways and Cutouts
Genesis- Nursery Cryme

And most likely you're for a treat with the Rock Progressivo Italiano.

I strongly recommend you look for Premiata Forneria Marconi; start with Storia Di Un Minuto Wink

Edit: How come I didn't recommend what I'm listening to now??? Try also Focus - Hamburger Concerto: Organ, mellow, flute, chill... Big smile

Ah yes, I have "Per Un Amico" already, I'll get that album too! They're really good.

You'd probably really enjoy Hatfield and the North's two albums quite a lot.

I love the Canterbury scene! I have one of their albums (Hatfield and the North) and I did like it a lot. I'll try to buy/download the second one when I get the chance.
Also, I noticed your location: Kobaia via Gong! La plančte Kobaia? Paranoia? I have all of Gongs albums Wink Nice!

Indeed, the planet Kobaia.  Magma and Gong are a couple of my favorite bands, if you couldn't tell. Tongue  I don't have all of Gong's albums yet, though, unfortunately.

Yeah, I have 2032.  It's pretty great, though a step or three below the original RGI trilogy.  I really think it could have benefited from having less of Gilli's songs, they seem to be the weakest points of the album and make it just a tad bit too long.  Ah well, it's still new Gong material, so I'm still pleased. Tongue

Judging by your tastes, a newer band you'd probably dig, if you haven't heard them already:

I'd recommend you check out some Anekdoten, either Vemod or Nucleus.  The lead singer has such a nice voice but it doesn't inhibit the band from still kicking ass and rocking hard.

Also, along with that Italian Prog Rock recommendation, get Le Orme's Felona e Sorona.  As far as I am concerned, those are some of the sweetest vocals ever recorded.

Bacamarte - Depois do Fim.  Awesome awesome awesome.
Can  - for a taste of Kruatrock
Gentle Giant...just pick any thing.  I like Acquiring the Taste and Octopus, for starters.

mmmm.  Enjoy.

The Bacamarte album is very good.

Anglagard is amazing...both albums are core prog, Hybris is considered one of the classics even though it was a 90's record.

Semiramis is a nice Italian band with some extra intensity.

Quella Vecchia Locanda is on the other end. Beautiful, Harmonium - like music.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

You mention Pink Floyd, Camel and Caravan that are my favourite bands, so I think you should enjoy the following:

Renaissance: Live at Carnegie Hall

Mostly Autumn: The Spirit of Autumn Past / The Last Bright Light

EL&P: Trilogy

Jethro Tull: Aqualung

Ayreon: The Human Equation
Collegium Musicum: Konvergencie
Anglagard: Hybris
Gentle Giant: 3 friends
After Crying: Fold Es Eg

I'm missing a lot of names and albums for sure.

Bellaphon (a Japanese band) is a Camel clone in the mood of Moonmadness. Not bad at all.

Hey, did someone already mention Khan? Try Grobschnitt's Rockpommel's Land or any of the 70's Grobschnitt stuff. Tull's Minstral or Songs from the Wood also come to mind.
