Since one week, Poland is subject to floods. Almost every big city is touched by the flood. What I do not understand is that in french press and TV, not a single word is said about these floods !!! It shows once more how the countries of Western Europe care about their neighbours in the Central and Eastern Europe...

Best wishes to our friends in Poland. Flooding is such a nightmare for people, even those who survive are decimated by the personal loss of their homes and memories. Our hearts to you.

If the French press aren't covering it our press isn't either. Having had personal experience with flood myself I wish you all the best of luck.

^ Thanks for your kind words guys. I am waiting for the reaction of our polish forum members (tuzvihar, raphaelT...). I hope my cousins in Przemysl area (south-east of Poland, in Subcarpathian voivodeship, also the poorest of all voivodeships) don't suffer too much from the flood, I need to enquire soon.

I wish them the best. Eastern part of Czech Republic was severely hit too, even though I'm safe, because I live in Western Part of Czech. Fortunately, house where I live is about 15 meters above river level. Guys, is it just me, or are there floods too often lately ? I may be wrong and these floods were here all the time in medieval ages, but it's a lot of flood news lately.

In France, the floods in MittelEuropa have been scarcely covered because we had more important news: the football club Olympic of Marseille won a cup.
Oh, and Carla Bruni.
Carla Bruni.
Carla Bruni, Carla Bruni, Carla Bruni, Carla Bruni, Carla Bruni. Cannes, Carla Bruni, sports, Cannes, Carla Bruni, sports, Cannes, TOTOROTOTOROTOTOROTOTOROTOTOROTOTORO PLEASE TAKE ME AWAY AAAAARRRGGGHHHH
Back to a more serious tone, have there been some victims? I remember that the last floods (in 2008 or 2007?) were murderous but I don't hear aynthing about the current events.

I see that it’s even worse than I thought. Twelve people are dead, and the dams are leaking, threatening to break. I’m so sorry for the Polish people. Let’s just hope there’ll be no more victims and that the water retreats now.

My parents were on their way to the KZ Camps in the south last week. But the floods stopped them so they have to return next year. .......... Yes, the morbid irony has not escaped my thoughts. I feel for the Polish people again. I say again, because this nation has got enough of tragedies on their plate this year. More than enough.

Eventually, the French TV has started to talk about these floods.
