I second the Trans-Siberian Orchestra recommendation. Check out:

PS. Yes, ever since that first video (which got really famous) syncing christmas lights to Trans-Siberian Orchestra songs has become something of a fad.

Greg Lake's "I believe in Father Christmas", the Jethro Tull Christmas Album, Chris Squire's Swiss Choir (try saying that quickly) and Annie Haslam has quite a nice Christmas album.

And, of course, Jon Anderson's Three Ships:

The December People's Sounds Like Christmas consists of Christmas songs played in the tradition of progressive rock giants. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=the+december+people" rel="nofollow - http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=the+december+people

They also have a new album out called Rattle and Humbug, with songs done in the tradition of U2, Boston, The Who, and Led Zeppelin, among others.  I've not heard this one.

Little Tragedies is a Russian symphonic prog band that released an album called The Magic Shop, which had a Christmas theme.

Procol Harem - Shine on brightly (but dont play this to a religious crowd!)
Jethro Tull - a Christmas Song (again : """"")

Steeleye Span - Gaudette  - harvest

Robin Williamson - winter's turning

Horslips- Drive the cold wind away

Schultze - xylotones  (very icicle-y)

Micheal Rother - first track side two of one of his lps - I think "Glittzerglanz" from his "Susshertz and teiffenshaff" lp. (very Chrismas bells-y)

Huggett Family - A Renaissance Delight

VA Charisma sampler "Beyond a Dream" - waking song

Albion Band - Songs from the Shows  Pt One (pagan Crimbo)

Karelia - joula

Magna Carta - winter section of 'Seasons" lp

VA "Heavy Christmas" (Krautrock Crimbo with juniper berries in the sauerkraut and goose (not turkey) stuffed with apples)

Gordon Giltrap "A Midnight Clear" lp

And dont overlook the aforementioned  Keith Emerson "Christmas Album". This is very good. Over half the music here is NON-trad. re-hash but origional

Give me a dollar.

There is this Brian Eno Christmas "rarity":

In 1996 he lived next door to a publisher.
They put out this Christmassy thing where Eno helped on the music and sings.
Apparently there is corporate message bullsh*ttery weaved into it all.
