don't have the Certificate, for car so I can only talk about the estetethic not preformance since I have never drowen a car in my life so Im very superfissal
but I stil view myself as an Autofile, or I like beautifull cars and feel the same thing when I see a beautifull car to how i react when I see a beautifull woman, their is something sexy about a car, let say when I see a Lamborgini on the road or parked nearby, I have problem breathing, the same goes for Ferrari, Corvettes, Masserati. Pagani Zonda, and Porsche
beautifull car is art, to design a car is to me as much art, as to make a sculpure, but only behind it is top notch technology, just look ar Mercedes S klass beautifull cars but also easthetic design and a sound which to some are orgasmic
A car capture at best three of aor sences of humans and stimulates them, the vissual, the audioe the emotional,
the sound of a V10 engine is for some people as close to sex as a machine can come at without being
who can resist the looks of these cars

I understand some cars being ugly, but I don't see the aesthetic appeal of the expensive cars. But I don't like or care much about cars so I'm an abnormal emasculated male.

Seeing expensive sports cars and such are cool and all but I really care very little about cars.

If its gets from Point A to Point B without catching fire, that's all that matters. And even then, you can just walk or take a bus. Beats going into debt, polluting, financing Saudis and paying insurance fees.

I was a car freak when I was five years old, nowadays I don't give a crap and just use public transport. I do have a driver's licence though, but I haven't driven an inch in three years. It was hella fun working in a car parts warehouse, I had so much in common with most of the other dudes.

I hate cars. Well, actually I'm referring to the series cars of today. I'm not sure if that's how they're called in English. Maybe "commercial models"? Not Ferrari, Jaguar, etc.
Anyway, it's difficult for me to understand how modern cars have become so uninteresting, so devoid of shape and character in just a few decades. A market product that was for so long one of the coolest design items populating the public space has not become the least interesting. Traveling on the highway is incredibly boring when landscapes are not availble, because there's nothing special to see on the road. Sometimes someone with an old Citroen or something like that enters the highway from time to time, here, and that's fun!
^ Look how full of character and style is the old car compared to the new one.

I'd rather have efficiency than character.
Also, this title keeps making me think of that documentary about guys who are sexually attracted to cars...

Some of my favourite cars of all time:
(Citroen)
(Mercedes)
(a certain famous Aston Martin)
(BMW)
(The WV Beetle)
(MG)
(Alfa Romeo)
etc.
As you can see I like European car design mostly, American car design doesn't do much for me. My favourite decades are (obviously) the 60s and the 30/40s. However I am not at all an expert in really old cars, basically I like most of what is pre-50s.

I can honestly say with 100% certainty...
I am not one I assume it's because I'm not really a man. Sucks eh?
Don't get me wrong, nice cars are cool but I don't know a lick about about one. And when people get into a fight about how much a Ferrari sucks, I just shrug and say "looks cool to me"
If it runs, it's A OK in my book!
And all I know is...my Saturn gets good fuel mileage, has been DAMN reliable (never one single car issue, just externally caused problems), and when you wash it up it looks shiny and nice

Cars have always been popular here in SoCal. In the sixties "cruising" was a social event. Certain stretches of various main streets were packed every weekend with cruisers. You went there to look at other cars and to look at chicks.
It didn't take long for the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean to start singing about cars more than surfing.
I still like cars today (especially mine) and I still take notice when I see one of my favorite years or models.

I have driven 10 meters in my life, not that im never gonna take the certificate but it is so expensive here in Norway, and you gotta be abal to back up you payment, and if you fail on the theorie test that costs, and other stuff, If I one day doo in for it, I must have no other timeconsuming plans for half a year. It will need my 100% attention

American Graffitti is a good example of what it was like.
I forgot to mention that music was a big part of cruising. In the winter you would have your heater on high so you could keep your windows down and your music loud (tape decks, not the radio).
Are You Experienced was a popular cruising tape but I think Time Has Come Today by The Chambers Bros was the most popular individual song.

An American/Asian centered list, which doesn't do much for me: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1701729_1701728,00.html" rel="nofollow - http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1701729_1701728,00.html
It says Toyota Corolla was the car that sold the most ever, but I knew this distinction went to the Opel Kadett. Wikipedia doesn't confirm this but I heard the information in a Discovery documentary so that must mean something.
This is much more interesting: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1658545_1657686,00.html" rel="nofollow - http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1658545_1657686,00.html

My favorite sports car has always been the Corvette, even before the T-Bird added a back seat.
I would have to flip a coin between a red '62 or the black early 70s model that Chris Tucker drove in the Rush Hour movies.

would love the real thing of course, the car is a customised Lincoln Futura made for the 1960's TV series, would have a lot of fun at CarFests and make a few bob as a Wedding car

Dean Jeffries was my first "artist" hero named Dean, his custom car designs have become iconic - a true genius.

The Batmobile had a cameo in "Rock Star" with Mark Wahlburg. The car was customized by George Barris who also built the Munster Koach for the TV show.

I thought Jeffries designed the Batmobile and Barris fabricated it. I think the same may be true of the Munster Koach (and the Drag-u-la). However George Barris was a great cusom car designer/builder with many of his cars being reduced to 1/24th scale for the Mongram company's plastic model kits.

You're probably right. When I was looking through his gallery it said that these cars were designed OR built by Barris. There were a lot of TV and movie cars listed but obviously some were only designed by Barris and actually built by someone else.
