I like all of these, even though they all clearly express the serious waning of Prog. There were more vibrant albums to be had with Momentary Lapse of Reason, Brother Where You Bound, Power Windows, Clutching At Straws, etc. I think this set goes together better.

went for GTR---hate the vocals and production--but some tasty guitar playing---although I think I listened to Invisible Touch and Big G almost as much as GTR

Big Generator

Everyone knows rock attained perfection in 1974, it's a scientific fact.

There's at least one good song on ELp. I can't say the same about the others. GTR is the worst album that I've purchased in the 80s, followed closely by Big Generator. At least I've not been so unlucky to buy Invisible Touch or Astra.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

I'll vote ELPowell, despite the awful review I gave it about 5 years ago. I've grown to like it a lot more than the other choices, in recent times.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I think these leftovers are growing some fuzz and should probably be thrown out. Tongue
Care to guess which two albums I have never heard or owned?

No matter which order you list them in, or how your group them, crap is still crap. Zero votes.

I voted for IT over BG, and here's why.  IT at least has the Domino suite, which is among Genesis' most underrated post-Gabriel tracks (along the the Dodo/Lurker track on Abacab).  And an extended composition at that.  Nothing on BG comes even close to it.

Hey, got one out of two.  Haven't heard Astra or Big Generator.  All the rest I had on LP.
