Gotta be:-
Genesis - Carpet Crawl,
Tangerine Dream - Mysterious Semblance At The Strand Of Nightmares,
Barclay James Harvest - Mockingbird,
Genesis - Ripples,
Pink Floyd - Marooned
David Gilmour - Castellorizon

Add to that some John Foxx - Cathedral Oceans albums, Harold Budd etc.

It's all mellow, but works for us!

Well, I've made love to Porcupine Tree before. One of the DVDs, I forget which. The visuals can't have been that great seeing as I got distracted! Snow Goose sounds like a lovely choice, though, I must say. I also find some Cocteau Twins quite romantic (okay, not prog, but still a favourite of mine).

In a slightly related note, my boyfriend sometimes blows kisses to me in 7/8. I'm one lucky girl!

I think their inclusion on the site was discussed in the past, but it obviously hasn't gone anywhere and I personally wouldn't really want to see it happen. Good to hear there are others, though! And I see we are both Sandman fans ;)

Sorry , I digress! Back to the subject a bit more...I think Head Over Heels and Victorialand are good CT choices for lovely dim-lit evenings!

It gets better, Google Brian S. Lindsey and I'm usually at the top thanks to my participation in this site.  The S, by the way does not stand for Slartibartfast.

I've always found this amusing: my middle name and my wife's maiden name are the same and when we first started dating our phone numbers were both combinations of 0,4,5, and 8.

It really depends on the couple.

I find Octavarium quite sex-able. the intro (foreplay), the start (first theme), the warm up, the fast (instrumental) section, and finally, the climax.

Otherwise, some prog or tech metal pieces are suitable for more rough or hardcore "moments". mainly viking or groove metal.

Aww, my wife doesn't like music when we're getting it on.  Cry

As long as we continue to get it on, I'm not going to complain.Big smile

well said :), great name btw, huge hhg fan, me

I'm just surprised I was able to snag Slartibartfast as a screen name here.  It's almost always claimed already when I sign up for a site.  I do have a default that has yet to fail: Slartibartfaster. LOL

THAT is awesome! :)

It gets better, Google Brian S. Lindsey and I'm usually at the top thanks to my participation in this site.  The S, by the way does not stand for Slartibartfast.

I've always found this amusing: my middle name and my wife's maiden name are the same and when we first started dating our phone numbers were both combinations of 0,4,5, and 8.

wow that is adorable. my maiden name and my husbands last name rhyme so of course i went for the hyphen :) we named our first daughter after one of Arthur Dents girlfriends too..think 'so long and thanks for all the fish' :) LOVE all the cute n silly Slarti, we're gonna have to have a couple date:)

By the way I want to extend an open invitation to anyone visiting or passing through the Atlanta area for a lunch or dinner chat 'n' chew.  There's pretty much no one here who I think I couldn't enjoy having a meal with.  I know some great restaurants. Big smile

oh yya, same goes for my if you're in philly or ny, i can show you the sites or cook a yummy and you can nerd off with my husband and you can see how adorably bratty my kids are :) and you can meet my cat Zaphod lol (notice my theme here)

I once read in a Pink Floyd site that Great Gig in the Sky had won a poll, or something like that, for the best song to make love to.

I remember when my wife and I were dating having Harold Budd's Luxa in a boombox in the bedroom and it was set to timer.  Went off early in the morning.  Didn't lead to anything interesting until later.  The first six tracks are prefaced "Butterflies With Tits:"  I used to have a Monty Python album that had one of those being chased by a hand that wrapped around the album cover.

Found it:

The cover art, that is.

ahaha only seasoned Avant-garde nutjobs can keep a steady rhythm going to that sh*t... It gets violent as well! The trouble is finding a female that will have sex to it that doesn't have hairballs or collect drawing pins...

And as I said: making love to Opeth is for whimps
