Inspired by same poll (just removing Pink Floyd and ads their poppier cousin), which also have a proud heritage and strong songwriting, lyrics, arrangement, variety, artsyness, expressiveness and full of contrasts and intelligence

Tool and Opeth are bands I enjoy and love very much as well, Opeth a little more,

Radiohead I respect but I have heard less on them/haven’t started on them yet

While Supertamp is a related to both King Crimson, Pink Floyd and Yes (with sharing members and influence/origin, the melting pot that was London/England in the 60s)

so all four bands are actually in many ways share the same influence from the prog big five bands, while Supertamp is directly influenced by the time they were in by the mentality of not comprmise songs and popousity is allowed, grand scope is not a sinn, Radiohead, Tool, and Opeth took it up ass forward thinking exploring youths whom did not want to compromise or simplify, but broadened their alternative rock  post grunge/brit rock sound (Radiohead and Tool) or expand the possibilities of metal (Opeth and Tool)

Well Supertramp released one of the best ever albums - Crime Of The Century, but I don't like much else that they've done, so it's Radiohead first for me,Supertramp, Opeth then Tool

I concur. Andmaking polls putingOpeth/Radiohead & Tool against established ProgIcons will not get the majority to say. "Hey, Radiohead IS better than Floyd. Won't happen. Ever.

Radiohead ARE better than Supertramp though, not that that's an amazing accomplishment or anything.

But yeah Radiohead win this for me, Tool and Opeth are bands I admire more than I listen to, and Supertramp are alright but I don't get what's so special about them. They're more AOR-ish than prog if you ask me.

I quite like Supetramps "Some Things never change." It was released 1997. In your honest opinion, dear Walter, am I allowed to listen to that album?

I am guessing that the older crowd say 40 and up were listening to Supertramp when the Opeth voters were just a squirt runnin' down the crack off their mamas buttocks. Just sayin'.

I'll take Crisis? What Crisis?, Crime of the Century, Breakfast in America, Even in the Quietest Moments AND Famous Last Words over ANY of the other groups albums. Roger Hodgson can outsing the devil screams of Opeth.

What is with all these nonsensical polls lately? What compels you people to get people's votes on things that aren't comparable? Opeth vs Supertramp? For Christ's sake at least try to make a figment of sense.

Opeth are definitely my favourite. Tool are also absolutely fantastic. Supertramp is very on and off for me, I like them much less consistently than the other two. Radiohead, outside of The Bends, really do absolutely nothing for me.

One thing's for sure, not Supertramp. Having said this, I can't answer. I quite like the tree and I don't know their discography entirely.

Tough poll. If I could only live with one band's discography from the group I would pick Radiohead. Tool is a close second, then Supertramp and then Opeth.

I actually prefer them in the order that they are listed in the poll.

Radiohead is far below the other three though.
