Hey, everybody, I reaaly need your help.

Whats the name of a band that is the name of an animal, but that name was inspired by the passage of an English tale of the twentieth century, and this tale tells of slug. Anyone know?

I know this is difficult, but need to discover the name of this band until tomorrow night. Can you help?

Already researched several bands with animal name, but none with literary inspiration.

Please, help me!

"...an English tale of the twentieth century, and this tale tells of slug."

I've read hundreds of books in my life, but never one about a slug. Do you mean an actual mollusk? Is this a book or a short story? And what genre of music does the band play?

The closest thing I can think of is a twentieth century German story that tells of a roach. Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. But I doubt that is what you're looking for.

Yes, it's a puzzle. And this band does exist, and the name of this band is the name of an animal, not the name of a slugErmm
Please, help me!

Gonna need some clarification.

A slug? Could it be a street urchin? Or a slug meaning a punch? Or a rifled shotgun round? Or does the story follow or involve an actual slug?

You mean a musical band of the 20th/21st century? Or should we be looking at stuff like the Rat Pack?

The band name IS an animal? Or contains an animal? Or is it the animal's name that was inspired by the novel/poem/short story?

English meaning British or just English-language?

The band's name is the name of an animal, which was inspired (or withdrawn) in an passage of this tale that talks about slugs (in the real sense of slug). Maybe, the band's name contains a animal name, because in the answer don't have this explanation.
The tale / novel is that is the twentieth century. The band (I think) should be modern.
English means British.
