| Most of those progressive bands went downhill between 1977 and 1979, whereas Camel still made good albums in Rain Dances, Breathless and ICSYHFH, so they get my vote. |

you're quite right when talking about Camel - Rain Dances and Breathless are very good albums! But, Gentle Giant is superior in this poll - so many 5 star albums during that period. |

Camel, followed closely by Gentle Giant then Rush in a very respectable 3rd.
ELP come a fairly distant 4th and VDGG aren't even in view with the Hubble Space telescope. ------------- A TVR is not a car. It's a way of life. |

Van der Graaf Generator easily, although I love all other bands listed here. ELP is pretty weak after 73' ------------- I look up, I'm almost blinded by the warmth of what's inside me and the taste that's in my soul, but I'm dead inside as I stand alone... |

Every Gentle Giant album from the first to The Missing Piece is very solid. That's 10, including the live album, which is one of the very best live albums. Pawn Hearts, Brain Salad Surgery, Mirage, and Hemispheres are great albums, but their creators can't compete with Gentle Giant's consistency, ------------- www.emkog.com |
