Course not. It is often the seed from where prog musicians grow. The simple chord structures, the short songs, the amateur level of the "musicians" has always been around for virtually any group of young musicians starting out. Listen to the garage punk of Louis Louis (The Kingsmen) and and then check out the innovative progressive rock of Aleisha & Other/75 by Touch (1968) - Don Gallucci is common to both. |
