I saw that these two amazing albums have the same punctuation, so I wondered which one is better? What do you guys think?
For me is hard to decide, but I think I prefer A Trick Of The Tale.

Trick of the Tail without even blinking. Camel is rather....ummm...mundane.

Even though I like both very much, `Snow Goose' is my least favourite of that classic run of Camel albums from that period. I still think it's very decent, but sometimes it's a little too...pretty for it's own good. I'd also pick `Camel', `Mirage', `Moonmadness', or even `Rain Dances' to listen to over it every time. But don't get me wrong, still a very fine album!

I hold `A Trick Of A Tail' up very highly. When I first started to dive into prog rock, my friend on the Archives here Tom Ozric gave me a tape with `Trick' on one side and Eloy's `Power and the Passion' on the other, and I had NEVER heard anything like them before in my life!

So `Trick' gets the vote, especially due to nostalgic reasons!

Trick is one of my sentimental favorite Genesis albums---so this is easy---I like Phil's sensitive voice on this---before he got a little too confident as a singer.Big smile

ATOTT by far, probably my favourite Genesis album. Two totally different albums. Snow Goose is a bit too sedate for me. I listen to it when I want a relaxing listen.

I am about 50/50 on A Trick of the Tail, which means that half the time I listen to it I really get into it while during the other half it tends to put me asleep.  The Snow Goose has a beauty and flow to it that is truly masterful, and I never get tired of it.

Hey! Stern Smile
A Trick Of Tail for me. The album has a real focus on Tony's songwriting and keyboard prowess, which is brilliant of course. Phil's drumming is also fantastic on that record, specifically Los Endos. The Snow Goose is nice as well.

ATotT is my least favorite Prog Genesis album, but has excellent songs, plus iot doesn't make me sleep as Camel.

So will vote for ATotT

It used to be A Trick Of The Tail beyond any doubt.
But... as years go by, the older Camel albums keep growing on me. I vote for Snow Goose.

Trick, but frankly they're both 3 stars at best.

I like both considerably, but I feel that Camel really excelled when it came to The Snow Goose -- beautiful album, and one that has stood the test of time for me.  Un like those whom it makes sleepy, I find it can be very exciting.

That youtube clip doesn't sound as good as on my LP.

I do still prefer the A Live Record version, but the studio album is still really good.

{EDIT: Ugh, another one of my embeds I had to fix. I do wish I hadn't been so video embed happy or I had used the way to embed that still works back when I posted these. When I see old polls that have been bumped and an object tries to be installed, it's commonly due to me because of the way I used to embed videos - it worked back then even if it wasn't the prescribed method}

One of the most iconic Symphonic Prog album vs. the beginning of Genesis decline? Sorry, no contest! Camel definitely!

The Snow Goose. A beautiful album. Not crazy about A Trick of the Tail. Genesis got less and less interesting for me after Gabriel's departure and I believe it shows a lot on this one album although there are still some enjoyable moments.

Played Snow Goose the other day. It still holds up very well. So does Trick so it's hard to choose one over the other.
