"The present lineup of Counterfist has been more than six years in the making. Drummer, Adam Clark and singer, George Grissom, sprouted their musical tendrils at a very young age in Yakima, Washington, their dubiously beloved hometown. After several years of “learning experiences” in Yakima, both independently moved to Seattle, Washington. Shortly thereafter, George joined a project called Jupiter Tree, soon to become Counterfist, involving Adam and guitarist Tony Peterson. Tony, hailing from Bothell, Washington, boasts musical experience and education equally as deep as the drummer and vocalist. Changes in the lineup over the years led to acquiring 13 year musician and current bassist, Rodney Michael Moore from Federal Way, Washington, and have since become permanent.

The music the quartet creates is not as easy to describe as the members. Every note strummed and sung creates a beauty that is only rivaled by the dark overtones that strangle it. The energy and sound are the personification of love/hate, stirring the listeners’ strengths and weakness’ all at once."

Very reminiscent of Tool, Rishloo, and perhaps Deftones, but with more short-form tracks. I find them to have a certain alt-metal feel to them, but one that is predominately progressive all the same.

PLUS! They're from Yakima and Seattle, Washington, where I happen to live! Smile So it'd be pretty cool to get some local prog on the site Wink

P.S. They have two official releases out, 10 tracks in total, with a few more not officially released, which I believe should be adequate material for their inclusion.

Hm, when I did a search for them, nothing came up, and in fact, that page you linked is denied to me.

Ah well, they're still an awesome band and fairly proggy in my eyes. Thank you, 7th.

Ahh, sorry about that - it's a collab zone thread.

Cheers Jimmi!
