Yeah, The Unnatural World is coming out on February 4th. I think I heard that its length is about 50 minutes, which is much less than DC. As for Giles Corey, no plans yet, as far as I know. Sad thing really, since I preferred it to DC, but forcing the new Giles Corey wouldn't bring good results for sure.

Iamthemorning's upcoming and White Light Generator by CBP come to mind.

Ian Anderson is working on a "progressive folk metal" (by his own words) project, Homo Erraticus, as well that I'm very much looking forward to.

Maybe a new Opeth album too?

Remember, Fripp has said at this point there's no plan to do any writing and the band would focus on live performance only.  I'm really hoping that once they get together and start working on rearrangements of older Crimso that some new ideas will start flying around and they'll have no choice but to record a new studio album Wink

So... it seems no one cares about Yes anymore. I understand they are suposed to release their new album next year. I try not to get my hopes too high, but it might just as well come out good. I guess it depends on how big will be John Davison's involvement on the writing process, and how good he ends up being as a writer. I believe the rest of the band are spent forces on creating a new masterpiece, but who knows about Davison?

http://stevenwilsonhq.com/sw/end-of-tour-update-by-steven-wilson/

SW has already written 2 new songs and tried them out during touring (which I haven't heard yet sadly). One is called "Happy Returns" which is one of those emotive-ballads he always has on his albums. The other is an untitled 15 min epic which apparently sounds modern, very dark (from start to finish) and completely different from that found on The Raven.

I'm also looking forward to new stuff from Yes, Mike Oldfield and Opeth (but I have low expectations on all of them despite being a huge fan of those 3), Alcest, Phideaux, iamthemorning, Cynic and Transatlantic. 2012 and 2013 have been good years so lets see what happens...

Edit: New Alcest? Hell yes! Huge fan of the last two albums, but I wonder how Neige is going to evolve from there. Maybe this time around we'll be able to hear some bass?Tongue

It's supposed to be even more mellow than the last one. 1st single sounds good, though.

I've heard some of the new material but can't remember whether I was that impressed or not. I assume there will be a new album. During the show I saw at Bristol Steven made a crack about bands that only record one album every 5 years. ''When did that become okay?'' and he suggested that one release per year should be the norm not the exception. Hence why I'm hoping for a new album in 2014Wink
