As promised, I'm planning to check out all the albums in these Modern Prog polls, so today it's Anekdoten, and tomorrow Anglagard, neither of which I've ever heard before.

OK, anyway, good to see you are giving Anekdoten a chance, better late than never I guess.

I wasn't being entirely serious when I said Anekdoten are Sweden's third biggest export, behind ABBA & Volvo.... There's also Saab. ![]() At least we can agree on Anekdoten being Sweden's second best musical export.

Anglagard - Hybris

Do you mean to say you disagree with me again? ![]() Roxette and Europe may be more popular and better-known, but I'm pretty sure Anekdoten are more highly regarded amongst prog fans.

that would be awesome but I don't think so. There is Europe and then Roxette (not anymore as the lead singer has sadly passed away).

Halla to Anekdoten! from Sweden they are coming with their debut album "Vemod", which is Swedish for "Melancholy", but don't let that put you off as this is a moody and magnificent album featuring a pounding bass guitar combined with melancholic Mellotron passages, so it should appeal to fans of King Crimson.

Flower Kings...Wobbler...Transatlantic, though to be honest I don't play the 10 or so I own from that list since the later ones by the bands are far better.

I probably should go for Marillion here, given it's enormity of importance, but it's got lots of votes, so again, Transatlantic...

Pallas out of all these, with TFK, Transatlantic, Marillion and Spock's Beard following closely.

Script for a Jester's Tear, just ahead of Triskaidekaphobie. I'm not a great fan of neo prog, but I do enjoy a bit of Fish era Marillion.

Totally agree! I remember going to a double bill at Nottingham's Rock City - Pallas and Pendragon. Great night!
