That Sahara album is one I bought at a regular store in the early 90s - when a few stores would stock these weird prog things that suddenly became available on CD. I haven’t heard it in a long long time. Need to revisit!
I remember buying that Frankie Dymon CD a few years back while shopping around with my dad. We listened and grooved together to it in the car afterwards.

Today/yesterday:

Camel | Rain Dances — one of their best, I think.

Ray Thomas | From Mighty Oaks — oof. A tad corny, but well produced.

Moody Blues | On the Threshold of a Dream — my ORIGINAL album. Where it all began for me.

Monks of Doom | The Cosmodemonic Telegraph Company — man these guys were great. Glad they reformed to do more (great) stuff

Husker Du | Metal Circus — on air pods in bi-weekly grocery trip today. White-knuckle music

Guerilla Toss | Twisted Crystal - also from bi-weekly trip. Listening to this band is like walking on the moon.

United Waters | Sunburner - a favorite from 2014. Abstract weird indie stuff.

UFO | Lights Out - 1977 hard rock old school. Good to revisit.

The Strokes | Is This It? - been in my car CD player for the past couple of weeks and plays during my infrequent car journeys. Gets better and better.

Ray Lambiase | Live Broadcast on Youtube - right now. An old friend of my wife & me (her former boss in fact) is a folkie classic singer/songwriter type (he was a contemporary of Billy Joel back in his pre-fame days). He’s playing acoustic and singing nice orig tunes while my wife is in the chat room with other friends. Nice times.

Got more in my ear holes. Having a great day.

Kenji Yamamoto— Metroid Prime Soundtrack ( incredibly atmospheric and adventurous. This is video game music at its very best. )

Depeche Mode— Violator ( 30 yrs young this incredible album is. The production still kills many many of today’s albums by a long shot. They don’t make’em like this anymore! )

Metallica— Ride The Lightening ( this album still has it all. Serious toe tapper. )

System of a Down— toxicity ( this is their best. Incredibly sophisticated. Loved revisiting this one. )

Rush— Permanent Waves (MFSL edition ) RIP mr. Peart. My ears love you!!!
Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Arena— Songs from the Lions Cage

Genesis— The Way We Walk (Both discs)

Phil Collins— Serious Hits (live)

Slayer— South of Heaven

Gojira— L’enfant savauge.

Not a bad album, however it is way down the list or totem poll as far as NIN efforts are concerned. This is just my opinion of course.

Reminds me of a joke by Aussie stand-up Steve Hughes who after a whole day of Slayer often finds himself reaching for a little Enya.
I don’t think i have any Enya, but I definitely mix things up like that

He describes Enya’s music as ‘silence coloured in’ which is just about THE best description I’ve ever heard
Take a peekaboo yourself - he is actually pretty damn funny (and smart):

Hesitation Marks.. i don’t have that one... i think I have most/all of the main NiN albums. Guess I should look out for that one.

Spirit | Future Games — really trippy collage-like album from Randy & Cass. Not a favorite, but a pretty weirdly cool listen now and then.

Mouthus | Saw a Halo - best album I’ve heard from this creative noise band. This one has a very organic flow.

Ralph Towner | Old Friends, New Friends — genius composer, classical guitarist, pianist, and onetime member of Oregon. This is his 1979 album with a 5-piece band.

Soft Machine | Third — comfort food for difficult times

Jeffrey Lewis & the Voltage | Bad Wiring — got the other day on a recommendation (via Facebook) from David Fair (from Half Japanese back in the day). This is fast folk pop with rapid-fire clever wordplay, kind of like They Might Be Giants. Each tune seems to take a fresh and humorous angle on some topic. Good for the brain.

Tonight’s self isolation.

Tool— Fear Inoculum

Iron Maiden— Virus (single) seemed appropriate

Fear Factory— Transgression ( seemed even more appropriate.)

ZZ Top— Eliminator ( hey. This album is top dog. The fidelity is gigantic too! Really great headphone listen. )

NIN— Hesitation Marks ( a classy revisit on my part. I do like it. Never thought I’d here a Wurlitzer in NIN’s music. )

Gimmie my headphones now!!! 🎧🤣

Slayer! I play them on very special occasions (super-amped or super pissed) and have a decent selection of their CDs just in case. Reign in Blood is for when I need to set my stereo’s knob to Destroy.

Hey Steve. You got it my musical brother. SRV is a great listen and of course being the freak I am I splurged on all those MFSL recordings of SRV. Worth it.
As for Slayer. Yeah. Special circumstances must be applied! The lyrics for Reign in Blood are absolutely terrifying. My my. The image of the beast is insane.

Glad you are well and of course all we can do is enjoy our tunes. We need them more than ever! I’m officially off work because of Covid. I’m I mad about that ? No freaking way. I was born to isolate and enjoy my sonics and family.

Jorge Palma - 'té Já (Twice. I swear "Meio-Dia" has one of the most disappointing fade outs I know, there's a guitar solo that keeps building up but it's cut short when it's finally unleashed.)

Motorpsyched!
Behind the Sun
Here Be Monsters

Space Art - Space Art (They'll release their first album in 40 years next month. A good occasion to return to their debut.)
Dungen - Dungen Live (It's mostly extended instrumental parts of songs glued together without the actual songs. I think I'll pass.)
Taproban - Strigma (Completely forgot about this. Retro Prog done (mostly) right.)
La Fabbrica dell' Assoluto - 1984: L'Ultimo Uomo d'Europa (It's been a while since I last heard it. It still kicks ass Big smile)

^ Agree with yr thoughts on Welcome to the Pleasuredome. It’s an exciting listen for all of its 4 sides, and quite artsy during a lot of it, too. I think I even like their version of Born to Run better than the original! Though I do tend to underrate Bruce in general.

Wipers | Over the Edge
Styx | Pieces of Eight
Vivian Stanshall | Men Opening Umbrellas Ahead
T. Rex | Dandy in the Underworld
Wipers | The Herd
Franco Battiato | Battiato
Moody Blues | The Magnificent Moodies
Moody Blues | The Present

Thrice he posts!
Yesterday:
Die Wilde Jagd - s/t (Finally got my hands on the debut! Blind buy and I am not disappointed..even on the backbone of their magnificent follow-up Uhrwald Orange which I got first. Sounds like a contemporary take on old school progressive electronic, the germanic variant that is. Heavily psychedelic trance inducing soundscapes with an affinity for motorik beats a la paddling two-stroke engines on a small river raft. I’m completely hooked and so looking forward to the release of the new album Haut)
Kate Bush - Never For Ever
Kate Bush - The Dreaming
Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love
Kate Bush - The Sensual World
(I am somewhat of a latecomer to Kate - only really having listened to her debut as well as a good portion of her work for eval purposes here on PA...but never really REALLY gave her the time that she deserves. The three-punch combination of The Dreaming, Hounds Of Love and The Sensual World though made me a true believer...and slightly weak in the knees )
Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Welcome To The Pleasuredome
Caribou - Swim (The track Bowls should please fans of pans...in a very literal manner)
Pond - The Weather (Love these guys. Instant feel-good vibes. Surfer-psychedelic rock band with art pop instrumentation of the 80s..or something to that effect)
Tangerine Dream - Logos (Also one of those instant feel-good vibes eliciting albums. Like jumping into a river that also happens to be a rainbow..or maybe that’s just the synesthesia talking)
