I tried, but I can't do it.  It's impossible to narrow it down to a favorite, especially between the years 70-74.

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

1972: Yes - Close to the Edge
1973: Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Brain Salad Surgery

1976: Camel - Moonmadness
1977: Pink Floyd - Animals
1978: U.K. - U.K.
1979: Emmanuel Booz - Dans quel état j'erre

The second of six decades in the history of Prog-Rock and what a decade it was! I could have easily chosen ten favourite prog albums from each year during the classic 1970's era, but I somehow managed to narrow it down to just one choice, which could have been a totally different selection on a different day. If you want to choose more than one album for each year, then that's fine too. Let's Rock! Smile

1970: Bachdenkel - Lemmings
1971: Spring - Spring
1972: Khan - Space Shanty
1973: Renaissance - Ashes Are Burning
1974: Refugee - Refugee
1975: Rick Wakeman - The Myths & Legends of King Arthur & the Knights of the Round Table
1976: Camel - Moonmadness
1977: England - Garden Shed
1978: Richard Wright - Wet Dream
1979: Tony Banks - A Curious Feeling
