On the other news, for my European friends, it seems far-right movements including UKIP made big gains across the front in the parliamentary elections. Opinions about this probably atrocious development?

I just watched the quite disturbing video of the shooter letting everybody know why and when. If I had saw that video before this shooting, I would have laughed it off as someone making a funny video or a loser. Well, he still was a loser, but I can't believe that disturbing video was actually real. And he did what he said he would do.

Oh and of course it was so easy for him to get ahold of a gun... Thank you NRA.

Memorial Day weekend, when US citizens remember and thank those who have given service to the country and especially those who have died doing so.

In addition, I wanted to add something I heard this morning from the mother of a veteran.  As we go through life we encounter people who have lost someone very close to them, the older we get the more this will happen.  Sometimes, out of good intentions, perhaps meaning to be polite, perhaps not wanting to make someone sad, we stop talking about the deceased loved one with the surviving family.  Again, I think often this is done with the best of intentions.

This mother said we should never feel we have to do that.  She said when friends and family would quite noticeably not mention her son, month after month, it felt to her like her son never existed to them.  She knew they were trying to be polite but it hurt her nonetheless.  Survivors want to hear about their loved ones on occasion, they want to hear someone else bring them up, mention some way they were touched by the person, or just tell a funny story.  They don't want to forget, and they don't want *you* to forget that the person existed.

So next time you have a visit with someone who has lost someone very dear, consider using your voice and your passion to invoke their name and make the survivor smile.  You might make their day.  It was a different Memorial Day message and one I intend to act on with a couple people I know.

Damn that sucks, I gotta look that up. The boy who committed the shooting was also possibly linked to a shooting the day before and he was found dead after his car crashed Unhappy

^ Sad news on such a grand architectural design.  Nobody hurt is a positive.

From BBC: Eyewitnesses said the fire appeared to have started when a projector exploded in the basement of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh building.

Latest news is the Glasgow School of Art is on fire, and it looks pretty bad

Fortunately first reports are that no one is injured but the library, much the student's work and the fabric of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's magnificent building has been severely damaged.

What?

But some will say that that is absolute freedom and that this creates jobs.

Disgusting. Slavery under a different name.

JIT is bully-boy business practice at its worse. Of course what these employers have implemented is not a JIT system, they still have an "inventory" of fulltime employees, they're just not paying them fulltime.

These guys are fit to be Philadelphia fans!

Believe me, real football (soccer) fanatics are way more extreme and crazier than your average NFL fan... Tongue

Oh no doubt. This story proves it...and there are many more out there. I just wanted to take a jab at philly sports fans.
