Went with Peter Gabriel, but would have picked The Residents if Stars of Hank was replaced with an arguably better album.

With Cardiacs, Art Zoyd, Kate Bush, Talk Talk, David Sylvian, Swans this is almost a Who's Who of my favourite artists and some of their best albums (OK I like another Swans phase more). Even great stuff like Thinking Plague and Dead Can Dance is without chance of being voted in this field.
Ideas of whom to vote rotate in my head and the wheel stops at... Talk Talk.

^ Indeed.
For any who might be interested, had I not organised this poll alphabetically but by chart position that Iron Maiden duo would have been placed high on the list had I included Prog Related, with Seventh Son of a Seventh Son as the third highest ranked album for the period, as well as Metallica's with Master of Puppets (11th highest rated album for the years) and ... And Justice for All. As well as King's X with Gretchen Goes to Nebraska and Out of The Silent Planet CLICK for list including Prog Related |

Kate Bush
if we were including 'Prog related' artists then Iron Maiden's duo Somewhere In Time and Seventh Son of A Seventh Son would have been my pick

It doesn’t, neither of the Menel albums do…. But I go with Marillion, that pair of albums is irresistible! |

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
